Good Gloves for dealing with thorns!

By Meg

from Cragsmoor, NY

About Me Practical, Stylish

Verified Buyer

Pros

  • Comfortable
  • Protects Against Thorns

Cons

    Best Uses

    • Trimming Rose Bushes
    • Working With Thorny Brush

    Comments about Rose Gloves:

I use these gloves for cutting out bayberry bushes and trimming wild and very thorny rose bushes. Without them, I wouldn't be able to get near these plants. The glove's long sleeves prevent arm cuts and help reduce insect bites. The hand part of the glove does protect against thorns though there is an occasional thorn that gets through. That said, I did use these gloves in very wet weather to move rocks, trees etc. and I've had them for several years. I've just ordered a second pair. Red - to find them when I take them off. They also look good even when you are covered with mud!

        Comments about Rose Gloves:

This is my 85 year old mother's second pair in about 10 years. She used to have wounds on her forearms from trimming her shrubs and roses. These gloves are a "lifesaver" in her words. She never injures her arms anymore. She is a maniac in the garden and recently pointed out she had worn out the finger tips in the first pair so we got her new ones.

My neighbor was constantly showing me her scratched up arms from working on her beautiful roses. Her yard is full of grafted beauties that are centuries old. I had been wondering what to get for her for her upcoming birthday and the lightbulb went off! I bought her a pair of these rose gloves, problem solved. She LOVES THEM. These were the perfect gift.

With a pair of Foxgloves underneath this is my standard equipment for working outside. I encounter poison ivy and thorns. This works - except for some thorns.

I love these gloves. They are well worth the price. I pruned back my roses the other day and didn't get stuck by a single thorn on my hands or forearms. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who has roses and is tired of being pricked by thornes.
