A hit with the birds and me

      By Sue

      Pros

      • Easy to clean and fill
      • Good Size For Most Birds
      • Nice looking
      • Well Made

      Cons

        Best Uses

I hung this in my back yard in addition to the one feeder I have, which couldn't accommodate all the birds I get. It holds plenty of seed so I don't have to fill it frequently. The birds not only feed from it, but often perch on the top for awhile so I'm able to get a good look at them.

After adding seed to this feeder it is almost impossible to get the lid on. The design for the top is very bad. Would not recommend. Have lost feed on the ground because the top could not be secured.

Twist off top is hard to use. Not squirrel proof. Glass broke when squirrels knocked it down. Tricky to hang but it looks adorable. I need a replacement glass chimney :(

Loved the look of this bird feeder. But it only lasted one day. The first night I had it up it got taken down by raccoons, fell to the ground, and all I had in the morning was spilled seed (what was left of it) and broken glass all over. No way to replace the glass, so had to bring it inside for a decoration. Suggest the screw-on top have more "purchase". Coons can twist it off - top was still hanging from the tree. OR offer a plastic feed fill bottle. Very disappointed.

Small, attractive feeder, easy to hang, fill & clean. Has been through a New York winter with no damage to the finish. Small and medium birds like it. The tray does not drain, as noted by another reviewer; I suggest making a few holes in it, otherwise you need to clean & dry the tray after each rain.

Great for large birds and aesthetically pleasing to view. Only draw back: visiting racoon "broke" weld by the hanger, - replaced with eye hook - works great now. Nightly racoon visitor now requires us to take down feeders, and now searching for safest repellant for racoons. Awaiting the Florida spring/summer daily afternoon rain to wash away bird droppings on top of dome.
