  • Long-lasting raised bed is sized to fit five raspberry plants
  • Attractive, rot-resistant cedar with rustproof aluminum corners
  • Includes integrated support system to keep plants contained and upright

Why are supermarket raspberries so expensive? Not because they're hard to grow — in fact, they're remarkably easy — but because they have such a short shelf life. That's why the best raspberries are the ones you grow in your own backyard and pick at the peak of ripeness. Our cedar Raspberry Bed is 8' L x 2' W x 7" H and holds five plants. It includes an integrated support system with heavy-gauge plastic monofilament line and special tensioners to keep rambling raspberry plants contained and upright.

  • Assembly required
  • Cedar sides and aluminum corners
  • Support is made from monofilament line with tensioners
  • 8' L x 2' W x 7-1/4" H
  • Holds 9 cubic feet of soil

Comments about Raspberry Bed:

These are nice looking, practical beds for raspberries or other plants that need support. I doubled the size by using my own 4ft boards for the sides. Overall, I think the product is way over-priced considering the materials it contains. Anyone not in a hurry could make it for one fifth the price. I would only recommend to well-off friends with little time on their hands.

    Comments about Raspberry Bed:

Love my new raspberry bed! Ditto to everything the other reviewers said. But here's a tip which will save you time and frustration: before putting the monofilament into the tensioners, make the cut ends as smooth and round as possible with needlenose pliers. (It really is impossible to pull the line back out and the ends get smashed during cutting, making them difficult to get through the round holes.)When the ends are smooth, they go into the tensioner holes easily.

I bought this to grow raspberries and blackberries without them taking over the entire yard. My daughter and I easily put it together and look forward to our berry harvest.

These raspberry beds assembled and set up easily. I am hopeful that these will make it easy to keep the beds nicely weeded and to keep surrounding grasses from constantly creeping into my raspberry patch!

Box was easy to assemble. We attached a strong trellis to back of the box, then attached trellis to fence posts in ground (so a strong wind can't tip over box).
We plan to use the box for grapevines.

Daughter has wanted raspberries but I was concerned about them spreading all over the place. This should keep them contained nicely.

                  Comments about Raspberry Bed:

I really like the design of this bed. In the past i've had to 'make my own' for my berry beds. This takes all the measuring and cutting out of your hands and it is SO easy to assemble.

                    • In summer, most berries demand nothing more than picking. But when it comes to raspberries, some pruning sets the stage for bountiful berries again next year.
                    • Learn how to plant raspberries in a step-by-step slideshow.
                    • Dreaming of a backyard berry patch? An asparagus bed? Start with a raised bed. A raised bed isolates the perennial crop from invasive weeds and grasses that might creep into the growing area. All have shallow roots that don't compete well with weeds and that can be damaged by aggressive weeding tools.
                    • Berries and other so-called small fruits generally don't require as much space as full-size fruit trees, and by growing several different types, you can enjoy home-grown fruit from early summer through late fall.
                    • If you're trying to keep birds from your crops, any scare device will work for a few days. But the most effective technique is exclusion.
                    • Use the Soil Calculator to determine how much soil you need to fill your raised bed.
