Powder-coated aluminum with plastic caps to keep out water
Six heights, all designed to fit standard 2 x milled lumber
These are a joke. They do not fit standard 2x CEDAR lumber, the width of the corners is about 1/8" to narrow. I brought these in to the local home store (thankfully I had these with me or I would have gotten all the way home with lumber that doesn't work) and discovered that 2x Cedar lumber is a bit thicker than pressure treated pine. The pressure treated 2x fits like a glove but I will not use treated lumber for a raised bed. So, I'm off to find a lumber yard that might sell cedar lumber that fits and waste a bunch more time. Between the gas, time, extra expense of the correct lumber this is turning out to be a fiasco. I suppose with a woodworking shop, a planer, sander, and/or router one could futz around with these to make it work but that defeats the purpose. Why the engineers of these things dont make these a bit wider is beyond me but frankly not surprising in a world where common sense seems to be lacking everywhere. Shipping cost to and from make it not worth returning. What a waste of time and money! GSC has lost any future business from me and anyone I know...
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
