Comments about : Rainwater Urn, 65 Gallon:

This rain barrel urn fits neatly at the back of a corner garden that was getting washed out by the amount of rain delivered from a roof valley. I also do not have spigots on this side of the house, so two problems were solved at once. In addition, it is attractive and blends in well with the house and garden.

Comments about : Rainwater Urn, 65 Gallon:

Looks nice but was not finished well. We wanted to be able to add a hose to the run-off outlet and had to go to the hardware store for plumbing supplies because of the odd size and lack of thread for connecting a hose. Also had to vacuum out the inside as pieces and hundreds of small shards of sharp plastic were left inside after manufacture. So far other connections seem snug enough to prevent leaks.

Comments about : Rainwater Urn, 65 Gallon:

I've invested a lot in the landscaping in my home's curb appeal and landscaping and wanted a rain barrel that wouldn't detract from that--this is the one! I got it in brown and it looks great. It is pretty easy to put together but you need to be extra careful installing the spigot or it will leak a little. One decent rain filled the barrel and it's easy to use the small hose to fill buckets or a watering can. For the overflow hose, the best fit seems to be a 1.5 inch sump pump discharge hose--you can get them online or in home centers and the kit comes with the right-sized clamp so it is super easy to put together. I didn't bother putting a plant in the top but the depression in the top is a great place to stash hand tools when you're working nearby. I liked this rain barrel so much that I've ordered another one to use in my backyard.

I replaced my old wooden rain barrel with this one when the wooden one broke from exposure to the elements. I generally avoid plastics, but this seemed a good alternative for a rain barrel. It looks nice and functions perfectly. It was super easy to hook up, and I like having a place for a plant on top. (I always place a flowering plant atop my barrel.) I use the barrel for watering flower pots in the yard, mostly. I'm glad I made the investment.

Comments about : Rainwater Urn, 65 Gallon:

We live in California where the drought and mandatory water conservation has killed several trees and threatened to kill many of our established plants. We bought one urn and liked it so much we bought another.
It was extremely easy to install and is so efficient that it fills with less than an inch of rainfall. We set the second urn up 100' away and can easily fill it using a garden hose attached to the spigot of the original urn.
These urns are very attractive and seem to be very sturdy. We also attached a flexible hose to the overflow port. We use this water to irrigate plants that sit 20" away from the house.

This urn solves a couple problems for us. It collects water for a small garden nearby. It greatly reduces a drainage problem near our house. It looks great. The only work involved is monitoring rains and the water level inside so it doesn't overflow, and because of our cold climate in central Illinois we plan to store the urn in a shed over winter. We also had to adjust the height of the urn. After it filled with water it sunk into the grown slightly, affecting the ability to empty the tank using the bottom hose. We had to empty the urn and raise the blocks underneath so that gravity would work again. problem solved!
