Comments about : Rainwater Urn, 65 Gallon:

We live in California where the drought and mandatory water conservation has killed several trees and threatened to kill many of our established plants. We bought one urn and liked it so much we bought another.
It was extremely easy to install and is so efficient that it fills with less than an inch of rainfall. We set the second urn up 100' away and can easily fill it using a garden hose attached to the spigot of the original urn.
These urns are very attractive and seem to be very sturdy. We also attached a flexible hose to the overflow port. We use this water to irrigate plants that sit 20" away from the house.

This urn solves a couple problems for us. It collects water for a small garden nearby. It greatly reduces a drainage problem near our house. It looks great. The only work involved is monitoring rains and the water level inside so it doesn't overflow, and because of our cold climate in central Illinois we plan to store the urn in a shed over winter. We also had to adjust the height of the urn. After it filled with water it sunk into the grown slightly, affecting the ability to empty the tank using the bottom hose. We had to empty the urn and raise the blocks underneath so that gravity would work again. problem solved!

Comments about : Rainwater Urn, 65 Gallon:

I am a retired lady who was able to hook the whole thing up myself with no problem. Once hooked up, an inch of rain running through my single story house's gutter more than filled this rain barrel. I am very with pleased. I would encourage you to add a runoff hose and clamp. Without it, I had to make a run to my closest hardware store, which easily had the clamp but not the run off hose. Why not include it? I was disappointed everything was not included in the package to hook it all up.
Excluding the lack of run of hose and clamp, I would haved definitely given it a five star rating. It is beautiful and looks durable too.

I use these rain barrels to harvest rain water, so that I water my gardens during the summer drought. The two I purchased years ago got me started....now I've added 2 more. The only real problem I've encountered is that the overflow spout has begun to crack, probably due to the weight of the hose I had to attach. Still it shouldn't crack - the hose is necessary. I'm sure I can fix it though.

we bought this rain barrel following some major work that left excessive water running into our neighbor's yard. This works great! Catches the water and when there is overflow we have just put the overflow hose into our garden. Our neighborhood organization is really picky about colors of items in the yards - this color is perfect!
