Great in some ways, poor in others

By jorly

from East TN

Verified Buyer

Pros

  • good for many uses
  • small, light, and one-handed blade lock

Cons

  • hard to carry around due to very pointy blade

Best Uses

  • cutting twine
  • snipping herb leaves

Comments about : Pocket Snips:

These snips are great while using them, since they're compact, sharp, and the lock is simple and one-handed. I just wish there was a better blade guard than the crystal clear one it came with, which I had trouble noticing while first trying to open them! These need a blade guard of some sort that's convenient because the blade would punch right through any pants pocket in a flash, and you'd want to carry them w/you everywhere. I ended up keeping them in the canvas gardener's belt from Gardener's Supply, but those pockets are too deep for conveniently carrying this diminutive but useful tool. I guess they need their own blade guard on a belt loop.

      Best Uses

      • Harvest raspberries, blackberries w/o prickers

      Comments about : Pocket Snips:

I use these for harvesting fruits an veggies from their plants without damage to either. I do gleaning for local food pantries and soup kitchens. My go-bag for gleaning have this pruner and the larger pruner for just this purpose. And the colors make it fun.
