Additional Information

Exclusive | Elevated Planter Boxes Are Easy to Plant, Tend and Harvest

At 29" high, this attractive cedar planter is the perfect height for easy growing, eliminating the need to stoop, bend, kneel and reach. It's a generous 10" deep so you can grow big plants like tomatoes and root crops like carrots. With 16 square feet of growing space, there's plenty of room for multiple crops, yielding a generous harvest. Set up one or more of these rectangular beds around the edge of your patio to create a convenient kitchen garden, or fill them with flowers for a stunning display. Like our other cedar raised beds, the sides are held in place with our sleek and sturdy aluminum corners. There's a false floor made of cedar slats, set 10" down from the top so there's plenty of root space for vegetables and flowers. Excess water drains through slats; vents in the sides allow air to circulate and excess moisture to evaporate.

Comments about : 2' x 8' Elevated Cedar Planter Box:

I love this planter box. We live in a mountainous area with rocky soil and winds. This planter meets my needs for growing vegetables and it's an attractive addition to our patio. I also bought the cover that fits it perfect. Only complaint is that with our winds we had to secure the cover down more securely but that was easy to do.

Comments about : 2' x 8' Elevated Cedar Planter Box:

I wanted to try to grow more vegetables than a couple tomato plants in pots, but because I live in a rural area with lots of hungry critters I was hesitant to rototill an area of my property for a vegetable garden. I decided to give this raised planter a try on my patio. I assembled it myself, and had no trouble, although lifting it up into place was a bit of a challenge because it's very heavy, even when empty. It seems very sturdy. Since I've only had it a couple months, I can't attest to durability yet. I picked my first batch of spinach already, and it was much nicer cutting the leaves off while standing than having to crawl along the ground. I'm going to want to move it off the patio for the winter so it's easier to clear the snow, and at this point I'm not sure how I'll accomplish that because of it's size and weight. I think I will definitely need to empty it first

Easy to put together...I did it by myself! I love the room it has and my vegetables are thriving. I did put in a self-watering system where I have the hose hooked up from the bottom of it and it has really helped keep the soil moist.

Needed a raised option big enough to plant several varieties of vegetables in a small backyard that was not suited to planting in a conventional way and this was perfect.

As the trees in our yard have grown, the spot we've had for our in-ground garden over the years is no longer receiving enough direct sunlight. The spot that receives the most sunlight is our large deck. I decided to try the 2 x 8 elevated cedar planter box for our tomatoes this year. We're only a few weeks into the season and the plants are growing rapidly and are healthy so far. They're easy to water and maintain as well. On top of it all, the box looks awesome on my deck.

Comments about : 2' x 8' Elevated Cedar Planter Box:

I received the (4) 2 x 8 elevated planter boxes and have now assembled (1). The cheap screws resulted in 4 stripped screws. The round screw heads prevent the floor boards from seating down which prevents all the floor boards from being installed. I've emailed Customer Service as to how to remedy this. I'm disappointed that I will most likely have to get the saw out and modify the length of the boards. To accommodate the pre-drilled holes not lining up, I screwed one leg onto the 8' board, and then loosely screwed the platform support to that end before I screwed the 2nd leg to the other end of the board. I was able to then adjust the leg to accommodate the platform support. I didn't see anywhere in its description that it said that the cedar must be treated but I now see that it is recommended. And so as not to end on a bad note, once I have the planter box assembled, I look forward to gardening in them.

I bought 2 of the 2x8 years ago and loved them. Everything grew like crazy so I bought 4 more this year. I have a bad back so these are great for me. My husband assembled them with no problem and love the linings. So far, my veggies are very happy.
