Additional Information

Exclusive | Elevated Planter Boxes Are Easy to Plant, Tend and Harvest

At 29" high, this attractive cedar planter is the perfect height for easy growing, eliminating the need to stoop, bend, kneel and reach. It's a generous 10" deep so you can grow big plants like tomatoes and root crops like carrots. With 16 square feet of growing space, there's plenty of room for multiple crops, yielding a generous harvest. Set up one or more of these rectangular beds around the edge of your patio to create a convenient kitchen garden, or fill them with flowers for a stunning display. Like our other cedar raised beds, the sides are held in place with our sleek and sturdy aluminum corners. There's a false floor made of cedar slats, set 10" down from the top so there's plenty of root space for vegetables and flowers. Excess water drains through slats; vents in the sides allow air to circulate and excess moisture to evaporate.

Great planter, seems very sturdy

Comments about : 2' x 8' Elevated Cedar Planter Box:

I have not used it yet because I just put it together, plus it is the end of July so we may wait till next Spring to start planting. It was pretty simple to put together using the video once you get past the fact that there are no pre-drilled holes in the wood. Plus not sure why they kept saying to don't use the holes second to bottom. Reasons were not mentioned. The box smells great, esp with the cedar oil, and I think it will add some appeal to the yard and will keep rabbits from enjoying the garden. I hope that this will provide many, many years of easy gardening and will stay sturdy through all conditions.

just what I wanted

Comments about : 2' x 8' Elevated Cedar Planter Box:

I had an unused unattractive concrete area on the side of the house. The addition of the 8' elevated planter box made the area useful for planting herbs and made it look more attractive as well. It was not difficult to assemble although a couple holes didn't line up. It wasn't overly frustrating- just added a step. I am very happy with it. It was a good value in my opinion.

This planter is HUGE!

Comments about : 2' x 8' Elevated Cedar Planter Box:

This thing has tons of room... we are using it to grow our juicing veggies right on our deck. Carrots, beets, kale, spinach, parsley... everything fits. I'm going to use wire garden hoops and micro fabric to make my own bug screen cheaply. Note that it is a little shorter than I thought it would be (the person in the ad picture must be very short). But for quality cedar boards, I couldn't have bought this at the lumber yard and made it for any cheaper. I will be "finishing" the exterior with cedar bed oil to preserve the color.

Useful and beautiful

Comments about : 2' x 8' Elevated Cedar Planter Box:

I am very happy with this container garden. Arthritis prevents me from bending over an in-ground garden, and this does the trick. Very sturdy and not overly difficult to put together. I put it on the deck, and it makes a very nice "room" divider also.

Tough to put together, but nice product

Comments about : 2' x 8' Elevated Cedar Planter Box:

I just bought this in the spring (2017). Working well for me, but I had a very difficult time putting it together, since I did it by myself - drilling all the holes, putting in the screws, etc. Also, some of the metal cross pieces were missing, and I had to wait an entire week to get them - after I had to convince the person on the phone to send them! bad customer service. :( So far, everything is growing nicely. I made my own protective netting by using stakes (topped with tennis balls); the stakes are held in place with brackets, and a netting that is durable, but you do not have to remove for watering.

Pros

  • Height
  • No weeding required

Cons

Comments about : 2' x 8' Elevated Cedar Planter Box:

There were some issues putting the first Box together...the 8' side rails did not line up with the holes. We overcame that on the second box by loosely attaching the rail prior to the previous step...in this way, we were able to adjust everything to accommodate the location of the holes. The last two boxes did not present this problem...maybe they were drilled in a different run when being pre-drilled??? The boxes are wonderful once assembled and planting begins...best height for those of us with bad backs.
Also, with one of the boxes, the plants are growing good but a greenish mold has developed on the top of the soil leading me to believe that it is not draining correctly from the rains we have had--even with the gap size between the floor boards being the same as the other three boxes when assembled.

This is by far thee best planter. Beautifully made, sturdy, great quality and will last a life time. It is the perfect size for what I need. I am a 68 yrs. old, female and I had no trouble at all assembling the planter myself. I watched the video and followed the easy directions. I have posted pictures on fb so all of my friends and family could see how wonderful this planter is. I've looked on line and in the stores and have not found any other planter of this quality anywhere else.

Comments about : 2' x 8' Elevated Cedar Planter Box:

My property has a lot of clay and a vegetable garden was not doing well. After purchasing this and assembling it, I've grown so many veggies, I have to give them away. But I'm having fun growing them.
