Looking at what I can find locally; the Gardner Supply cages are more economical and better made. They fold flat for storage which is a plus.

Either we are having a banner year for peppers or the pepper cages are making a difference. No more flopped over plants or broken branches laden with heavy peppers. It's great that they are storable and reusable.

I now have 50 or these cages -- they are absolutely the sturdiest tomato cages out there. This year I sprang for the red ones and wish I had done so years sooner. They are so pretty, and really jump out in the garden, among all the plain galvanized ones. I don't think there is a better tomato cage on the market.

These newer coated plant supports are much nicer than the original supports. Those original ones tended to rust badly - especially one set that I had purchased.
I like they way they support my pepper plants, but I wish they were just a little larger. The plants tend to be so tightly supported that picking peppers can be a challenge.

                  • Falls Over Without Clips
                  • Need Clips To Secure

                  Best Uses

I used these in the self watering containers I purchased a year ago from GS. Without tie down clips like the tomato cages, these cages are not suitable for that type of conatiner. I used tomato cage clips (large ones) used to secure the tomato cages to the containers. Should be included in product.

I grow a lot of peppers. I use a cage on every other pepper plant. This alows me to run twine between the cages to support the plants between the cages.

I bought 3 tomato cages earlier and they worked so well that I decided to try the smaller cages for my green pepper plants. So far it beats tying them up.

                            • Peppers etc

Used three pepper cages last summer and they held up the pepper plants very well. However, in removing the dead plants in the Fall, I guess I was a tad too rough, and several cross pieces that were welded onto the main frame broke free. Luckily, that happened with only one of the three cages, so I only had to throw one away. That fragility, however, makes me hesitate to buy any more. Suggest cutting away the dead foliage with scissors, rather than try to tear it off like I did. And suggest to Gardeners Supply that you make sure the company providing these cages does a better job on the welding.
