Exclusive | Pear Fruit Fly Trap is Effective and Discreet
Sparkling crackle glass tabletop trap controls pesky fruit flies
Effective and easy to use
Eco-friendly: no plastic traps to throw away
Includes three packets of non-toxic lure
Who wants annoying fruit flies flitting around the fruit bowl? No one will ever know that this pretty glass pear is also a fruit fly trap, which works like a wasp trap. Attracted by the bait, fruit flies enter and can't find their way back out. Just mix a packet of lure with water, remove the top from the pear and pour in the lure. Every two weeks or so, simply rinse out the pear and add a fresh batch of lure — no plastic traps to throw away. Includes three packets of non-toxic lure; additional lures sold separately. Choice of Green or Yellow.
Recycled crackle glass, metal, 3 non-toxic fruit fly lures
Lures contain yeast, sugar and other natural ingredients
We live in an subtropical part of the country where fruit flies seem to breed from thin air. I keep all my foodstuffs stored in the fridge or airtight containers, but they still get in. (Truly, it would make you believe in spontaneous generation.) I have one of these in my kitchen and another on my dining table, and they work beautifully. They can't get them all, of course, but they do stop the majority.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
I may be slow witted but the lures that go in the pear come from a different source than the pear, and photos don't show it set up for use. Its thus resting in its box again.
Merchant response: There is a rim around the bottom of the trap. You mix the lure with water, tilt the trap and pour the liquid into the channel around the bottom of the trap. You put on the top and the flies are attracted and fly in through the hole in the bottom and cannot find their way out. I hope that helps.
Was looking forward to a solution for the constant summer problem of fruit flies. very disappointed that metal lid does not go onto the glass pear therefor making it useless until I use a file on glass. poor quality control!!
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Getting fruit flies out of the kitchen takes a bit of persistence, but it isn’t difficult and doesn’t require any pesticides.
