Carry a Bushel of Coir Mulch in One Hand

  • Lightweight mulch block hydrates to 2 cu. ft. of mulch
  • Mulch helps suppress weeds and conserves soil moisture
  • 100% organic, biodegradable and renewable
We’ve all been there: lugging heavy bags of mulch to the car, straining our backs and making a mess. These dehydrated coir mulch blocks weigh just 9 pounds and are delivered right to your door. Just add water and in 20 minutes, you’ll have 2 cubic feet of earth-friendly mulch. Made from coconut husks, coir has better water retention than bark, and reduces the temperature and moisture fluctuation by 50%. Keeps its rich color, too.

Product Details

Greatest thing since sliced bread!

Comments about : Mulch Block:

I am using it in the cone stands I bought from you, my regular containers, my heavy pots, etc. everything that goes into a container has to be hauled up a longish steep hill. Throw them all in a wheelbarrow (also purchased from you) push them easily up the hill, keep in a large galvanized trash can, reconstitute in wheelbarrow as needed. Oh, and water less often. I mix with soil for some things! I am 65 years old and this means I can continue my garden hobby.

Try this mulch block and you will buy it again!

Comments about : Mulch Block:

I put the mulch block into a large storage container and pour a gallon of water (at a time) on the block. I use a three prong rake to scratch the block then add more water and repeat, as well as turning the block over and scratching the damp side. I mix the coconut mulch and let it sit for a while so it can absorb more water. You want it wet to apply around your plants, trees and shrubs so it doesn't blow away in the wind. Once you have applied the wet mulch, it seems to stay in place well. It makes watering your plants easier because it helps hold water around the roots and keeps the root zone cooler. One block generally makes enough to fill four, 5-gallon buckets. If you recycle and reuse products, you will also appreciate how environmentally friendly and efficient this product is.

Better than carrying heavy bags from home store

... or using a wheelbarrow from a truck dump. The blocks weigh less, have a handle to carry. Place in the wheelbarrow, add water and watch it expand. The just grab a handful, squeeze out, and drop where needed.

not great

Pros

  • good color

Cons

  • chunky texture, good if you want mulch nuggets

Best Uses

    Comments about : Mulch Block:

We were looking for a different texture than this block, this is "chunks" of coconut hull. Tried to return and was told we could return but would have to pay shipping out of pocket, decided to keep it rather than spend $50 and end up with nothing. Not happy with experience.

    Pros

    • Keeps in moisture between waterings
    • Stops weeds

    Cons

      Best Uses

      • Mulching vegetable gardens

      Comments about : Mulch Block:

This mulch has solved my vegetable garden dilemma - how to keep the soil from drying out too much between waterings. A big plus is how it stops weeds from growing. Less weeding = one happy gardener!

      Great idea.......

      Comments about : Mulch Block:

I purchased Mulch bricks last year and loved them. However, they are NOT the same this year. This year the product is stringy. Both years products were good for mulch.
But, last years product was also very good looking.
Therefore I would only recommend this product if I explained the difference first.

I used this organic mulch on my organic raised vegetable beds. I like the fact that it doesn't have any dyes or chemicals like other mulches. It keeps the weeds down too!
