Exclusive | Mason Bees are Nature's Best Pollinators

  • Decorative house attracts pollinating mason bees
  • Made from long-lasting bamboo
  • Mason bees are small, non-stinging beneficial insects

Boost your garden's productivity by providing a happy home for peaceful, non-stinging Mason bees. Slightly smaller than honeybees, mason bees are incredible pollinators. Each one visits as many as 1000 blooms per day — 20 times as many as a honeybee! Hang this natural bamboo house against a tree or wall where it will get morning sun and attract mason bees. Female bees fill the bamboo tubes with their eggs, and nectar and pollen for the young to eat.

I placed the Mason Bee Hive in the orchard on an apple tree loaded with bloom, it has been hanging in one place for about 3 to 4 weeks, no sign of bees yet.

          Comments about Mason Bee House:

I've just received these bee houses so I'm not sure how effective they will be. They are very attractive and appear to be quite durable. I have them hanging near some fruit trees and vegetable plants, hoping to attract bees for pollination.

          Comments about Mason Bee House:

I loved this for too many years. It functioned well under shelter (no sun) and our abusive squirrels didn't ruin it. Mason bees gradually filled in. But I didn't heed last line of instructions: "To avoid pest and disease problems, artificial nesting boxes should be carefully cleaned or disposed of after one or two seasons of use." Now our bees have mites.

This bee house is of great quality, spacious because it contains many tubes and very easily hung up. Not only does it serve as a home for mason bees but lends an attractive feature to the house. People in our neighborhood have stopped and enquired as to its purpose which in turn has provided us with educating people about our valuable pollinators.

                Comments about Mason Bee House:

This is my second mason bee house. I purchased one a few years and the mason bees have just about filled it. I placed the new one on an east-facing window sill near the old one. They both face east and receive some a.m. sun. They are about 4 l/2 feet from the ground. Starting in April, the bees are very active and busy. There is a group of hellebores growing nearby which the bees like since they bloom in April. I love having the new population of bees in the yard! The only change I would make with this house is to flatten the bottom enough so it can sit on a flate surface like a windowsill easily.

Want to help any bees, honey and mason. Saw this and liked the looks. Read more later and found I need to do more work in winter and the followig spring - save wintering bees, clean out bamboo, etc. Think this house might not be usable the following year.
