Additional Information

Exclusive | Mason Bees are Nature's Best Pollinators

  • Decorative house attracts pollinating mason bees
  • Made from long-lasting bamboo
  • Mason bees are small, non-stinging beneficial insects

Boost your garden's productivity by providing a happy home for peaceful, non-stinging Mason bees. Slightly smaller than honeybees, mason bees are incredible pollinators. Each one visits as many as 1000 blooms per day — 20 times as many as a honeybee! Hang this natural bamboo house against a tree or wall where it will get morning sun and attract mason bees. Female bees fill the bamboo tubes with their eggs, and nectar and pollen for the young to eat.

Bought this two years ago. First year, not many bees, but now we have a full house! The bees love it, and we're considering a second one, as we have all flower gardens, no grass in our yard.

We got this as part of the three-pack. while it's still too early to see if any bees have set up house, we do like that we are doing what we can to keep up our bee population.

Comments about : Mason Bee House:

My house has a holder for a flag. This turned out to be the perfect place to hang the mason bee house: it faces south, gets lots of sun, is under the eaves so heavy rain isn't felt, and is adjacent to my garden. Bees were using it within a day or two of when I first hung it - in an unusually warm March in Atlanta.
