Biodegradable, Eco-Friendly Cowpots™, Now in Larger Sizes

  • Cowpots are completely biodegradable
  • Transplant seedlings, pot and all, directly into garden, reducing transplant shock
  • Pots add nutrients to the soil as they degrade
  • 6" pots are a set of 4; 11-1/2" pots are a set of 2

We’ve added larger sizes for growing out transplants, starting dahlias and begonias indoors, and pre-planting annual flowers before setting them into decorative pots. Cowpots are the invention of Matt and Ben Freund, two Connecticut dairy farmers who were looking for an environmentally responsible way to dispose of cow manure. The manure is dried, completely composted, mixed with natural fibers, and pressed into pots. Gardeners love Cowpots because they are odorless and free of weed seeds. Plants love Cowpots too, because transplant shock is greatly reduced. Best of all, Cowpots are 100% biodegradable. They last for up to one month in a greenhouse or on a windowsill, but will dissolve within weeks after planting in the garden, providing essential organic nutrients to your plants.

100% Biodegradable
  • Made of composted cow manure
  • 6" Cowpot is 6" square at top, 4-1/5" square at base and 6" H
  • 11-1/2" Cowpot is 11-1/2" square at top, 8" square at base and 7" H
  • 100% biodegradable

                • Great starter

Cowpots allows a person to get a step ahead in planting their seeds or plants. Product feeds the plants and if the soil in the garden is not so great, this give the plants a great beginning and hopefully a chance to grow while becoming part of the garden dirt.

After using Cow Pots for two years, and finding this size this year, with this company, I would ask that you buy these for starting tomatoes or other large veggie plants.
They are a bit fragile when growing a seedling for a month. They fall apart easily, but seeds just love them. Highly recommend that you get this size and not worry about "potting up."
On initial use, there is an earthy odor that disappears after about three days.
This size is NOT found at local nurseries, so get them NOW, and get them HERE.
