Hungry Ladybugs and Mantises Devour Aphids and other Insect Pests

  • Beneficial bugs are a safe, natural pest control
  • Control aphids, beetles, grasshoppers and more
  • Shipping begins in late March and continues into November

Ladybugs and praying mantises are voracious predators of many garden insect pests, including aphids, whiteflies, spider mites and mealy bugs. We'll send you approximately 1,500 adult ladybugs or an egg case of 200-300 praying mantis eggs — each adult will eat several times its weight in insect pests, daily!

  • Ladybugs (Hippodamia convergens) help control aphids, whiteflies, spider mites, and mealybugs
  • Mantises (Tenodera aridifolia sinensis) eat aphids, beetles, grasshoppers, caterpillars, moths, mosquitoes, and other insects

    Comments about Beneficial Bugs:

The lady bugs came right away, seemed in good shape but I waited 2 days to release them in my garden. The instructions were clear (release at dusk to keep them in the area). The next day it seems they all crawled out of the package.

      Comments about Beneficial Bugs:

I have used these eggs before with good success, They were very difficult to find this year and we have had really bad weather, so I have not seen any hatchlings yet and I usually see one or two. I will order them for next year.

                Comments about Beneficial Bugs:

I ordered a praying mantis egg case. The instructions said to put the eggs in a paper bag, but instead I attached the case to a small stick (the case had a natural groove that allowed me to do this) and put it in a cleaned mayo jar. I put a paper towel over the top, held in place by a rubber band and set the jar in a sunny window. I expected to have to wait for several weeks, but they hatched out 5 days later. I would guess there were between 150-200 hatchlings. I let them loose in an apple tree, hopefully some will survive. Great product, will order again next year.

                  Comments about Beneficial Bugs:

The lady bugs arrived ready to devour everything in their path. Unfortunately, they arrived too early. This is my fault for ordering early, I suppose. I still have many in the beds where they had adequate food. I'll do this again... later in the season.
