    So disappointed

    By Nancy

    from Cincinnati, OH

Comments about : Hurricane Lantern Bird Feeder:

I bought this feeder for a housewarming gift for my brother and his family. They loved it and put it out with their other feeders right away. Two days later the feeder was destroyed by squirrels. They had chewed through the clear plastic part that holds the seeds. They were disappointed and I was embarrassed that the gift lasted such a short time.
I liked the feeder so much that I was planning on getting one for my yard. I am so glad that I had not ordered it yet!

    pretty but not practical

    By bsm

    from Renton WA

    Pros

    • Birds Use It
    • looks nice
    • Seed Stays Dry

    Cons

    • HARD TO CLEAN
    • Hard to fill
    • Holds Water In Base

    Best Uses

    • In Protected Areas

Comments about : Hurricane Lantern Bird Feeder:

    1. Hard for one person to release the seed holder in order to tip it for filling. A water-tight top fill would be better.
    2. Seed holder tips for top filling which causes the seed to spill from feed hole. Inserting a bottle cork in seed hole can be used to prevent spills while filling.
    3. The seed does stay dry. However, water collects in the decorative metal base and it is starting to rust after just a couple of weeks.
