Comments about Heritage Red Raspberries, 5 Canes:

The Heritage Raspberry plants have been planted according to the instructions received with the plants and are showing good growth. Will have to wait until they mature sufficiently to produce fruit to make a final assessment of the plants. So far everything has been excellent.

The canes arrived and looked quite dead. However, I planted them as directed and all five are growing happily. I am very excited for summer fruit.

Planted these this spring & all of them are sprouting new growth. Would give them 5 out of 5 but a little early. Hopefully we will get acrop this Fall.

I am writing to correct an earlier assessment I did where I complained that most of the plants did not survive but alas I was too impatient. Had I waited the 4-6 weeks that the directions stated I would have seen that all of them are alive and looking healthy! My apologies to Hearitage Raspberry for doubting their product!

Great product on a species not readily available this spring from local sources. One cane was DOA and never rooted. The other canes rooted vigorously and are doing great. [...]Great price as compared to other places and better quality.

It was five days after arrival before I was able to put my canes in the ground. As suggested, I made sure they were moist and cool until planted. At this point, it appears only one of the five I ordered will survive. Since I am not sure of myself and am just following directions, I hesitate to be negative. I am hoping to see signs of life on the other plants, but it isn't promising at the moment.

We received 6 sticks but only 2 have leaves 3 weeks after. I continue to water them all but not much hope for the other ones. I followed all instructions (good ones and detailed) but I guess not all can grow so order more than you need.

I can't really recommend this purchase. Only one of the FOUR that I received has grown any leaves thus far, and I watered and planted them as instructed. I've grown berries successfully before, so I don't think it's me.....Generally, raspberries are hard to fail with- they grow in crazy scads here on my property. I don't think I'll buy plants from GS again,I'll stick to implements and supply items from now on.

                                    • Berries and other so-called small fruits generally don't require as much space as full-size fruit trees, and by growing several different types, you can enjoy home-grown fruit from early summer through late fall.
                                    • Dreaming of a backyard berry patch? An asparagus bed? Start with a raised bed. A raised bed isolates the perennial crop from invasive weeds and grasses that might creep into the growing area. All have shallow roots that don't compete well with weeds and that can be damaged by aggressive weeding tools.
