The mini grow bed is the perfect solution in my flower beds around the perimeter of the house. Every spring we were clearing out weeds and grass but no more. The neighbors love the new look and are doing their beds as well.

        Comments about Grow Beds:

I got these to make beds since my soil is so bad. I was able to start square foot gardening rapidly and saw how little weeding is involved. They are sturdy and perfect for a quick start, controlling the soil and avoiding weeds. I use them year round for winter harvesting too.

I I have bought these grow beds to supplement my garden and add to it. I like that they are deep and since I now have 3 of them at the end of my parking area I can move them out and save the garden dirt when winter comes. We live in a snowy mountain town so thats a must. Love their flexibility.

              Comments about Grow Beds:

The 3'x6' unit is made up of two smaller units. One three foot unit and an extension kit. The assembly instructions are poorly written.
Customer service is lacking. I visited the Burlington store to inspect the unit. There was not one available to look at. The store staff was not well informed about the products about which I had questions.
Because my mailing and shipping addresses differ I could not order online. The telephone rep did provide the advertised sale price for online orders after having to be asked twice. She did however work very hard to sell me additional products.

Hooray I am finally able to grow lush vegetables ! Our sandy soil and not so friendly nematodes prevented my plants from growing to their potential. I now am enjoying bountiful vegetables from my 3x6 bed. Your staff is extremely helpful. I called for assembly instruction as my bed came with an extension that I couldn't figure out A great product with backup knowledgeable support people.

              Replacing old wodden beds

                Comments about Grow Beds:

I purchased 6 3x18' plastic raised beds to replace our old wooden ones. Shipping was quick but the boxes were delivered with the ends ripped open. We didn't loose any parts but this could have been a problem. The beds themselves seem flimsy until you actually put them together. They do form a nice structure that seems like it will last. We got ours filled and planted and the dirt didn't seem to bow the sides any. I was concerned about this and pounded a piece of rebar in the middle of each section. It made me feel better but I honestly don't know if it was needed or not. Time will tell once they weather a season. BEST thing about these is that on the bottom of each piece is a lip that sets against the ground. Its great because once you place these where you want them, a gentle push pushes this lip in the ground and further helps seat them in the ground. This helped me because these boxes were replacing the wood and then extending out into the yard. Just set them and put your soil in and you are good to go! WORST thing about them is you must decide how you are going to use them before you purchase them! I was between buying the 3x3 and the 3x6 sizes. If you buy more then one 3x3 and think you can put them together you cant. When you buy the 3x3 you just get the 4 corner pins. When you buy the 3x6 you get the 4 corner pins, 2 plates that are used to attached the sections together (must drill) and a center metal bar that is placed under the beds to help support the longer sides. I ditched the metal bar and used the rebar on the outside of the beds because I use a small rototiller and didn't want to catch the metal. In other words if you buy the 3x6 you have to make it 3x6. If you buy 2 3x3 and decide you want to make it 3x6 you will not have the center support bar or the 2 plates that connect the sides. And of course 2 less side pieces. Just something to think about before you buy them. The 3x6 are perfect for me easy access for weeding and picking and it keeps the plants thinned out so they all get sun. One thing I would like to try for next year is getting a couple more 3x6 sizes. As I was putting them together I realized that they could be made into a triangle also, thought this would work great for a raised bed on a slight hill I have. A couple of these could make a really unique pattern. Overall I like the boxes, the price is the best you are going to find and the product is worth it. Go for these and not wood! In the end it is less work, less cleanup (the wood rots after about 5-6 years) and cheaper. Good growing everyone!

                Comments about Grow Beds:

The ordering information is not clear that to have a 6x9 box, it is necessary to use an extension kit. I ordered an extra extension kit to make one of the 6x9 boxes longer. No way would this work with a box that comes with an extension kit versus arriving intact as a 6x9 box--too unstable. Customer service is great at this company, but in this instance, I was not satisfied with a compromise that still required me to pay shipping for a mistake caused by a lack of information in the catalog and website.
