Comments about Grow Beds:

Hooray I am finally able to grow lush vegetables ! Our sandy soil and not so friendly nematodes prevented my plants from growing to their potential. I now am enjoying bountiful vegetables from my 3x6 bed. Your staff is extremely helpful. I called for assembly instruction as my bed came with an extension that I couldn't figure out A great product with backup knowledgeable support people.

    Comments about Grow Beds:

I purchased 6 3x18' plastic raised beds to replace our old wooden ones. Shipping was quick but the boxes were delivered with the ends ripped open. We didn't loose any parts but this could have been a problem. The beds themselves seem flimsy until you actually put them together. They do form a nice structure that seems like it will last. We got ours filled and planted and the dirt didn't seem to bow the sides any. I was concerned about this and pounded a piece of rebar in the middle of each section. It made me feel better but I honestly don't know if it was needed or not. Time will tell once they weather a season. BEST thing about these is that on the bottom of each piece is a lip that sets against the ground. Its great because once you place these where you want them, a gentle push pushes this lip in the ground and further helps seat them in the ground. This helped me because these boxes were replacing the wood and then extending out into the yard. Just set them and put your soil in and you are good to go! WORST thing about them is you must decide how you are going to use them before you purchase them! I was between buying the 3x3 and the 3x6 sizes. If you buy more then one 3x3 and think you can put them together you cant. When you buy the 3x3 you just get the 4 corner pins. When you buy the 3x6 you get the 4 corner pins, 2 plates that are used to attached the sections together (must drill) and a center metal bar that is placed under the beds to help support the longer sides. I ditched the metal bar and used the rebar on the outside of the beds because I use a small rototiller and didn't want to catch the metal. In other words if you buy the 3x6 you have to make it 3x6. If you buy 2 3x3 and decide you want to make it 3x6 you will not have the center support bar or the 2 plates that connect the sides. And of course 2 less side pieces. Just something to think about before you buy them. The 3x6 are perfect for me easy access for weeding and picking and it keeps the plants thinned out so they all get sun. One thing I would like to try for next year is getting a couple more 3x6 sizes. As I was putting them together I realized that they could be made into a triangle also, thought this would work great for a raised bed on a slight hill I have. A couple of these could make a really unique pattern. Overall I like the boxes, the price is the best you are going to find and the product is worth it. Go for these and not wood! In the end it is less work, less cleanup (the wood rots after about 5-6 years) and cheaper. Good growing everyone!

    Comments about Grow Beds:

The ordering information is not clear that to have a 6x9 box, it is necessary to use an extension kit. I ordered an extra extension kit to make one of the 6x9 boxes longer. No way would this work with a box that comes with an extension kit versus arriving intact as a 6x9 box--too unstable. Customer service is great at this company, but in this instance, I was not satisfied with a compromise that still required me to pay shipping for a mistake caused by a lack of information in the catalog and website.

        Comments about Grow Beds:

I recently bought two of these for personal use, and two for my daughter and son-in-law. I can't remember how long I have had the one I'm currently using-at least 5 years. They are the perfect size for my rhubarb plants and herbs, and deep enough to support good root growth. I'm not all that tall, but I can reach to the center with ease. In the off- season I've used these for composting leaves and pine needles. One of the units arrived missing two of the pins that hold the sides together, but a quick call to Gardener's Supply remedied that. Compared to other beds I have seen these are the best at the best price.

          Comments about Grow Beds:

I have been using these for the past 4 years and I love them. I don't have to ask my husband to put a wood frame together that gets eaten by termites. The 3x3 fits almost anywhere and I can reach all the way across sitting on one side. I have 7 now and just ordered 2 more. I also buy the liners to keep the soil in and weeds and tree roots out (for the most part). My natural soil is not for growing vegetables (cacti do great), so I put a layer of empty garden soil bags down and the boxes the beds came in on top of that (my way of recycling) and than the frame and liner. This has worked very well so far. I try to rotate my crops to add nutrients back to the soil as much as possible to avoid chemical additions. I add some chicken manure and compost 2x a year and my beds are in use 12 months out of the year.

I have grown accustomed to having my favorite plants accidentally mowed down by my over zealous husband. These wonderful rugged black plastic boxes {I have 8} now contain tulips, veggies and perennials in nice borders and prevent my precious plant babies from being the victim of speedy lawn mower pillage.

            Comments about Grow Beds:

I am a novice gardener and last summer was my first garden season in a new house. There is a fenced, graveled playground on our property that I wanted to convert to my kitchen garden last year, so I bought 6 of the 3 x 3 black grow beds, with 3 liners, so they could sit right on the gravel. I put one 3 x 3 on top of another to make 3 tall grow beds, filled with soil and had a wonderful first time yeild! I then covered the beds with dried leaves and left them in place over the winter. This year I worked in the leaves, added a little compost and am ready to plant soon! So, while I didn't really expect them to hold together for long, they are doing great so far. No dirt escaping at the seams or worrisome bulging. Germination last year was fast and all of the plants did very well. I loved them so much, I bought more this year and am going to more than double my garden space!

Can be put together easily with help of a hammer for the corner pegs. The frame is heavier plastic, but once put in configuration on ground it is not bothersome. Not easily warped frame. Looks nice and cleans off easily. Very good buy for quality.

As I grow older I like planters that can be placed at a height that is easy to work with. My four grow beds are placed on homemade stands bring them up to a nice level. I would love to have the taller planters, but the cost is too much for a 71 year old person. I also like the towers for beans, cucumbers, and squash.
