I really like this crock. It is pretty sitting on my kitchen counter and because I do use the filters that come with it, there is no odor.I think that the crock will last a long time because it is made sturdy and solid. I have been waiting a while to get this and I am glad I finally did.

vegetation waste. Filter stays moist and mold forms on filter. Odors come from this. The handle comes off too easily. Otherwise it is ok.

The only complaint about the compost crock is that the lid is not tight enough and gnats get in the crock and when we open it to put more scraps in the gnats come out.

Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:

I liked the appearance, but the holes in the top allow entrance for fruit flies, even with the charcoal filter in place. The smaller neck opening made emptying difficult, especially when using the compostable liner bags.
