Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:

I use the compost crock to collect kitchen scraps for composting.
The compost crock is attractive on the counter. There is no odor with the lid and filters.
The capacity is large enough for a days kitchen compost.
The food scraps catch under the lip on the crock. It makes clean up more difficult when I empty the crock.

Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:

I have purchased this product before from Gardeners Supply. They are attractive, but I do wear them out! This time around the handle configuration was changed. It is terrible. This crock was already dropped once as the handle slips off. Looks like they changed suppliers or cheapened the product.

Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:

The compost crock is looks good on my kitchen counter and holds a lot of food scraps. There is no odor while the lid is on. My only con is that the metal handle tends to come off when I try to use it to lift the crock, but that's only a minor inconvenience. Overall, I'm very pleased with it.

Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:

We live in the country with no garbage pick up so we need to go to the dump with our gargabe. Composting is the way to go, not only for good soil for my flower gardens but also less garbage to lug to dump. Color is great. Mataches my kitchen. We also use the compost bags for easier clean up. The fruit flies still come.

Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:

This is my first time composting. I chose this crock based on color and size. The handle doesn't stay on which makes it difficult to carry out to the compost bin--which, due to the small crock and the large amount of fruit/veg waste this time of year, happens often. If I were to get a product like this I'd go for something lighter, a little larger, and with a secure handle. If it weren't a nuisance, I would return this one.
