New! Last year several customers reported such a bounty of tomatoes that the plant's weight grew too heavy for the support. Our redesigned support is extra-sturdy for this year's tomato bonanza!

Nothing tastes better than tomatoes harvested fresh from the vine! Now you can look forward to a season’s worth of bounty with our revolutionary planter. Advanced technology makes this small-space system a convenient and foolproof way to grow a super-productive tomato plant right on your deck or patio. Also great for peppers and eggplant. We recommend using the included tie-back to secure the planter to a post or railing.

Success starts in the roots. The perforated planter with Honeycomb Ventilation and lightweight Grow Bag liner air-prune roots, ensuring a dense, vigorous root system that can take up more water and nutrients — the secret to a super-productive plant.

Dual-Hydrate Watering System. Draws water from the reservoir into the soil two ways — an evaporative grid plus capillary strip — efficiently providing roots with water.

Customizable support. The heavy-duty support is integrated into the planter, to provide support wherever and whenever it's needed — and you can open, reattach and lock in the rings to gather up and support wayward branches.

Support lacking

By Smartcatz

Pros

  • The honeycomb pot grows a good tomato plant.

Cons

  • The support doesn't support a large tomato plant

Best Uses

Comments about : Gardener's Revolution® Honeycomb Tomato Garden:

I like the actual pot, but the support that comes with it, doesn't support the tomato plant when the plant gets larger. I had to put a stake in the ground and attach the support to it, so it wouldn't lean forward too much.

Good except for it's main function

I like everything about this planter except the main thing I purchased it for - self watering. Tomato grows very well and is producing but the open design apparently causes it to dry very quickly so I find that I have to refill at least once per day or the plant starts wilting. I set up a watering system on a timer for all my deck containers with small hoses going into the reservoirs and for this one I added a drip emitter on top as well. After 4 days this is the only one with a dead plant in spite of my efforts. Will try the one with solid sides.

Do not buy this product! It is the most frustrating gardening product I have ever purchased . The planter is fine but the support rings are a joke. The black support rings do not give much support . They constantly are sliding down and my plant is not fully grown. I have to go out there daily and reposition everything . I am awaiting the replacement snaps. The instructions were not clearly written. Don't put yourself through this frustration . There are much better products on the market .

This may be the most complicated, frustrating design of any thing ever in the history of all things. Don't put yourself through it. There are much easier solutions for growing tomatoes in containers!

        New Locking Clips!

        By The Curious Gardener

        from Schwenksville, PA

        Verified Reviewer

        Pros

        • New locking clips are easy to install

        Cons

          Best Uses

Comments about : Gardener's Revolution® Honeycomb Tomato Garden:

I was given the opportunity to test advance samples of the new locking clips and I am happy to say they far exceed the original. Originally, I had to ask for assistance from my husband to help place the clips on the planter. Even with the help, it took fairly long to put it all together. I ended up taking off my old locking clips and placing the new ones on to test them out. As long as you follow the directions provided, it will only take a few seconds to install the new clips to the ring. I was impressed by the simplicity, since they look very similar to the old clips.

Overall, the Honeycomb is working great so far! In regards to the strength of the planter, I am very confident that it will support full grown fruit or vegetables. I feel like there are plenty of rings within the support to distribute the weight appropriately to ensure there is not too much weight on one support.
I love the simplicity of the Honeycomb. My pepper plant in the Honeycomb is supported nicely without having to buy any additional products.

I am also happy to see that the color of the Honeycomb planter has not faded at all. In comparison, our grill cover faded very quickly on our deck, due to the amount of sunlight in that area.

I conducted an experiment to test the Honeycomb planter to a traditional terracotta pot. I planted the same pepper plant that was approximately the same size in both. As you can see from the picture, the overall health of the plant is much greater in the Honeycomb planter. Interestingly enough, the pepper plant in the Honeycomb doesn't seem to have nearly the amount of aphids on the leaves. I only saw a couple on the Honeycomb pepper plant, while the terracotta pepper plant had a lot all over the leaves (this may be due to the soil and fertilizer combo for each). I used the soil that was provided with the Honeycomb for only the pepper in the Honeycomb. I used another organic soil for the pepper plant in the terracotta pot.

            Happy Gardening!

This is my second year using the Revolution Tomato Garden
-Wish Gardener's Supply site linked to replacement parts...white strips, grow bags, extra rings, etc.
-Instructions more difficult than using my common sense!
*** I put the Tomato Ladders(one per bucket) inside the black support rings...MUCH more stable and supports indeterminate tomatoes! ***Downside...much more expensive but lasts longer.

Would never buy another one. Bought it last year, but didn't have a chance to use until this spring.
Clips and wires fall off constantly and I ran one over with the lawnmower. At least once a day I have to realign
            the clips. Not very stable.

I bought 4 of these planters. While they are reasonably good looking, they've got to work right or they are a waste of money and these are a waste of time and money. I spent many hours trying to attach the clips and watching the training video. For the price of these planters, this is ridiculous!
