Helpful and allowed me to customize my watering plan

    • Customize Watering Plan

I bought both snip and drop systems since I wasn't sure exactly what would work and wanted to be sure I had plenty of material. Together, I was able to "mix and match" parts and effectively develop a watering plan for 4 raised beds in an unusual configuration. Am using the "extra parts" to put in a smaller system for the herb garden in a different location of the garden.

    • Small Raised Beds

I have seven 4x4 raised beds. I haven't been successful setting it up/configuring it so that it waters all the beds. I've purchased extra connectors and endcaps and played around with where the water connects to no avail. Love it for the beds that work, but have to move it around.

I use this water system for my garden that is 30' x 50'. Thought it would not water all the rows all the way down, but it does! Only need to water for like 5-10 minutes instead of 20 - 30 minutes with a sprinkler that you have to move (and get all wet) because the wind will not let it cover the whole garden. Also if I have to spray the plants for anything then it will not be washed off like a sprinkler would do. Really like it and very easy to assemble. Just hope replacement soaker hoses can be bought separately for the future because I will continue to use this system and will probably need to replace the soaker hoses at some point.

I am sure that this was a good product but the garden area that I wanted to use it in was just too small. When I went to return it I found out it would be $32.00 to send it back. With the postage I paid when I ordered that would be more than the cost of the product. So I am keeping it to store in my garage.

Soaker hoses are a much better way to deliver water to garden. Water goes only where wanted, and avoids potential spreading of spores/fungi to neighboring plants if you use a broadcast sprinkler method.

Installed before leaving home for several weeks, to facilitate the task of watering for a kind, elderly neighbor, who offered to take care of my veggie garden (three raised beds). This was the best decision I ever made, since the garden was just about to reach peak production. It was easy to install, following all the instructions closely (esp. heating the end of hoses in hot water before pushing onto the couplings). Thanks to the system, the garden is still in great shape! One caution: drip-hose needs to be installed close to each plant to be effective, since only a narrow strip is watered. I had plenty of hose length to do this, so the system performed well. All the neighbor had to do was turn on the faucet, then come and turn it off in a couple of hours. And of course, to pick the produce while we were gone :-)(Caution: set the amount of water pressure just right; with us it was only two turns of the handle.)

The soaker system was the perfect solution for irrigating our raised garden beds during the Northwest's dry season. I ordered two extra sets of connectors and four three-way connectors to have enough parts, so you should probably sketch a diagram of your planned irrigation setup before ordering to make sure you have what you need. Our garden vegetables are doing great with what we set up.
