Exclusive | Easy-to-Tend Raised Garden is Handsome and Versatile

Bring your garden up to a whole new level! Our 2' x 8' elevated raised bed is easy to plant, tend and harvest without kneeling or bending. Plus, it offers creative landscaping opportunities. Set up one or more of these rectangular elevated beds around the edge of your patio to add privacy, or arrange several along a perimeter to create a garden "room". Like our other cedar raised beds, the sides are held in place with our sleek and sturdy aluminum corners. There's a false floor made of cedar slats, set 10" down from the top so there's plenty of root space for vegetables and flowers. Excess water drains through slats; vents in the sides allow air to circulate and excess moisture to evaporate.

  • Cedar with aluminum corners and imported fabric liner
  • 24" W x 96" L x 29" H
  • 2' x 8' Bed holds approx. 13 cubic feet (329 dry quarts) of container mix
  • Gardener's Supply Exclusive

Comments about Elevated Cedar Raised Beds:

These beds, albeit a little pricey, are very nicely built and truly save one's back in terms of their height and not having to stoop down all the time to tend to the plants' needs. They are aesthetic, built well and very sturdy. They also make for a very nice wall/barrier for your garden if you have dogs that do not belong past a certain point such as where your vegetables and fruit are growing! We have three of these and are very pleased with them. If you are considering cultivating vegetables or simply want a decorative flower bed, I highly recommend these raised beds.

Comments about Elevated Cedar Raised Beds:

I bought a 2x8 bed, and although the shipping took a bit longer than expected (it took 2 weeks when I expected 7 days), the product meets my expectations. It wasn't very difficult to assemble for someone who is moderately handy. A surface that is as level as possible is key for setting it up, and an electric/battery drill/screwdriver is best. The set-up would be faster with 2 people but I constructed the bed on my own one evening after work and from start to finish--setting out components, reading instructions, assembling, and cleaning up--it took me about an hour. I had to plane one of the planks for a proper fit for the bed floor. I did not use the included bed liner, rather, I lined the bed with alfalfa straw and dried leaves. The bed will be ready for planting tomorrow when I add my dirt/compost mix. The bed could be a bit deeper, but I am satisfied with the product for its good-looks and because it lends itself well to urban gardening where space and light is valuable.

Comments about Elevated Cedar Raised Beds:

The raised bed is located near a neighbors fence, providing an increase in privacy & maximum sun light. It is planted with 2 tomato plants (Cherry & San Manzano) & a variety of herbs. Some of the metal fixtures were damaged in transit but they were replaced very quickly. Thanks for the great service.

Two of the rails were bent in shipping. Had to pry them open. It was difficult to put together. None of the screws holes in the metal brackets lined up. Looks nice once it is done. I was planning on getting a second one, but probably won't purchase it.

Because my soil is clay, I just purchased my 3rd and 4th because I love tomatoes so much. They look great outside my kitchen window, and this year I'm tenting them for earlier planting. These are superb!

Comments about Elevated Cedar Raised Beds:

While I like the looks of the raised beds I ordered, I was really dissappointed with the quality of workmanship. These beds come partially assembled with the aluminum ends already connected to one side of the cedar planks. You would think that the aluminum end would be the same heigth as the cedar planks. Almost in every case, they weren't and some were much different in size than the others. That said, I had to dissassemble the assembled parts, shave and readjust before finishing the final assembly. While I like the loook now and I am certain these raised beds will serve me well for years to come, I was dissappointed with the quality of the workmanship.

Comments about Elevated Cedar Raised Beds:

I purchased this product two years ago and then we decided to move...so I didn't assemble it until now. It was stored in the original boxes (never opened). I remember when I purchased this it was months late in arriving because the demand had been so high...so I suspect that the mfg issues were because they were trying to meet the demand and not paying as close attention to details. Whatever the cause...we had to redrill about half of the holes (where we could). The metal support bars were cut about 1/2 inch too short so we ended up having to "make" our own. what should have been a relatively fast assembly took much longer than anticipated because of these issues. I have having two more raised beds custom built out of similar materials...we shall see which ones outlast the other as the wood on this raised bed seems a bit thin...we shall see.

Comments about Elevated Cedar Raised Beds:

I love this planter box now that we have it assembled. However, the packaging it is shipped in is not adequate. The metal that comes attached to the wood for quick assembly had three of the four corners bent because there wasn't enough protection around it. It should have included wooden protective corners to ensure it would arrive undamaged instead of just being placed in a cardboard box. We opted to try and bend the metal back into place as best we could with pliers instead of exchanging it because the chances of the replacement being damaged in the same manor was very high since it isn't packaged adequately. Due to this, it took us a really long time to assemble as the boards were not sliding into place very easily with the bent metal. I wouldn't recommend this to a friend until better packaging is provided for shipping.

Comments about Elevated Cedar Raised Beds:

I will second what other commenters stated. The holes in the metal brackets do not line up with the predrilled holes in the wood. This made it a pain in the neck to assemble. We wound up drilling new holes. This is a simple quality control issue that should be communicated to the manufacturer. Not sure why it continues in spite of so many other comments.
After it is assembled, it is beautiful and functional. I love not having to bend over and I'm not that old. It also adds an element of structure to a vegetable bed which can get really tangly looking by the end of the season. So after the hiccup of assembly, it is great!
