Exclusive | Dual-Batch Compost Tumbler Has Two Rotating Bins

  • Produce high quality compost quickly and efficiently
  • Let one bin "cook" while you add fresh materials to the other side
  • Two bins rotate separately; each bin holds approximately 3 cubic feet

Batch composting is the fastest and most efficient way to produce high quality compost, and this dual bin tumbler makes it easy. Fill one side with kitchen scraps and yard waste, then stop adding materials and let it "cook," turning it every few days to speed up the decomposition process. In the meantime, add new scraps to the other side. When the first batch of compost is finished, remove it and repeat the process, letting the other side cook.

Recycled Plastic
  • Assembly required
  • Recycled black polypropylene, steel
  • 28-1/2" W x 25" D x 37-1/4" H overall
  • Each bin holds approx. 3 cubic feet (22 dry gallons)

    Comments about Dual-Batch Compost Tumbler:

Would have given it 5 stars had it not been so difficult to assemble the legs. We finally stopped looking at the directions and used trial and error to finish the assembly. This is a great product for smaller gardens. It doesn't take up,too much space and it is off the ground so no issues with rodents. Would suggest users follow the enclosed composting directions closely and using suggested additives to get the best outcome. I didn't at first which resulted in it taking longer to produce compost and the resulting compost wasn't as fine as I liked.

      Comments about Dual-Batch Compost Tumbler:

Not too difficult to assembly. The openings are good enough size to add scraps from our kitchen container. We've only had it for a month, and still filling up the first side. It turns easily, which is great.

      Comments about Dual-Batch Compost Tumbler:

Recently moved from Wisconsin to Arizona and I left my two large composters because my Arizona yard was 1/4 the size of my previously one, so I was excited when I saw this item.
Came quickly and was easy to assemble. One tub was perfect but the other was made poorly. The two pieces of molded plastic were uneven so the door would not slide. Contacted GS and they quickly replaced the bad tub with a new one and told me to save the door. Although the new tub is better constructed the door still did not slide easily. My husband spent several hours filing the edges of the tub to allow the drawer to slide with ease. It now works adequately

I've just put this together, it was easy. The instructions say that you must have 2 people for assembly, not so. I did it myself without difficulty. Can't comment on how well it works, I just got it

        Comments about Dual-Batch Compost Tumbler:

Very Nice unit. Its winter where I'm at, but started using right away and its working even in very cold temps. Like the two drums for different batches. Doesn't take very much space in the yard, and much faster than my old pile system I had to turn with a pitch fork. Am considering buying another one.

        Comments about Dual-Batch Compost Tumbler:

This would be a good product if all you need is something to compost kitchen scraps for your small city garden in a humid climate. It turns easily. It doesn't take a huge amount of room. It is way too small for a kitchen garden. It is way, way too small if you have more than a couple buckets of leaves. Openings are small and not for one-handed opening. Aeration holes are large and numerous, which as another commenter indicated, allows coffee grounds or anything smaller than 1/2 inch to fall out, and is too much aeration for a dry climate. If I had a small city garden I would consider a worm composter for kitchen scraps, which would be faster, and actually smaller. After trying this gizmo, I realize I should have stuck to the easiest, fastest, least smelly, least expensive method: trench composting. Unless this thing proves itself this summer, it's going to be recycled.

          Comments about Dual-Batch Compost Tumbler:

We have composted for a long time, but this gives us the opportunity to bring the composter up closer to the house, due to its space efficient, self-contained design. Like many other commenters, we found one of the doors doesn't fit, but I expect Gardener's Supply will readily help us out with that. Perhaps I was clued in by other posters, but I found assembly to be a breeze,. Even the plastic tubes, unaddressed in the instructions, were clearly intended to be sleeves for the axle, add they pop right in.
My one concern will be volume. There are just two of us, but during the winter, when the cooking is slow, I suspect our kitchen waste plus the "carbon" required to make it work will overwhelm it. We'll see. I will update.
By the way, the privacy policy one has to agree to in order to submit this review is ridiculous.

Smaller size is better for older individuals. I had a larger tumbler but had difficulty turning it when it was full. Plus the two sides allow stages of composting.

              Comments about Dual-Batch Compost Tumbler:

This composter is odor free and easy to use. It takes up very little space for the capacity. I would have rated it 5 stars if the parts were labeled to make assembly easier. Also, I took another reviewer's advice and covered the air holes with mesh to avoid leakage. Since it's wintertime, I bought red wigglers to speed up the process and they seem happy. The mesh keeps them from falling out.

First is I put it together in less than 1 hour, alone. All parts were in the box and they fit. I have a usual size rural town lot and it is perfect in my backyard. So far the family of racoons have not bothered it. Easy to spin. I have not seen my first batch yet, but it's only been three weeks. The only reason it does not receive 5 stars is one of the sliding doors does not slide without pounding it with the palm of my hand. also a booklet describing how to use it most efficiently would have been nice.
