Freezing makes compost faster

Comments about : Kitchen Compost Bags, 100:

I use these bags for vegetable and fruit peelings, coffee grounds and egg shells, tie and freeze before putting in
my compost piles. I have found that freezing helps alter the plants structure making decomposition faster and best of all the frozen items do not attract wildlife like the fresh ones.

Real compostable compost bags

By Moto Tim

Comments about : Kitchen Compost Bags, 100:

These bags do decompose in my compost bin, unlike some others that I have tried. However, they will start to decompose in the kitchen bucket if wet for too long. Not an issue, just wait to remove from the bucket when you get to the compost bin.

Will be purchasing this product again!!

Comments about : Kitchen Compost Bags, 100:

I initially purchased the smaller quantity due to prior reviews however I've had none of the issues mentioned- "falling apart, tearing easily" They are sturdy, fit perfectly into my small compost container until I can get them to the larger outdoor one and I'm thrilled I can compost the entire bag and contents! It was just what I was looking for. I'll be ordering the larger quantity next time.
I did purchase the charcoal filters also which seem to also be working great!!! No Odors at all !!

      Need to be better

      By sarlod

      from New York State

Comments about : Kitchen Compost Bags, 100:

Bags I bought last year and which were not used over the winter, are no longer workable. They tear when opening them or when tearing them off the roll. Don't buy in bulk. Why isn't the bin for them enclosed so fruit flies can't get in? I really like the height of the green container (not the compost crock); it can be opened and left open to receive parings even when sitting on a counter under the cabinets. I'm going to try closing the bag between uses, a twist tie perhaps, and see if that helps with the fruit flies

      Kitchen Composting

      By Chris

Comments about : Kitchen Compost Bags, 100:

As stated above, some bags tear off the roll unevenly tearing the bottom out of those bags making them unusable. Making the bags a heavier "ply" may be a good idea.
