Might be better than a garden fork, might not be

        Comments about Compost Aerator:

If you have a very small compost pile that is mostly kitchen scraps and a little yard waste, this aerator might be just the ticket, although I have constant problems with the "leaves" getting jammed in the folded up position by the very compost I am trying to aerate.

It's not so good for a large or deep pile because, frankly, it doesn't turn over that much material and it can be very difficult to insert deep into the pile. For what you're paying, there are better options - like a garden fork - that will get the job done and that you can use for other things as well.

        Comments about Compost Aerator:

Definitely better than the single pair of aerators than I had previously. The double padded handles, and double flip out aerators. mixes my compost much better. I'm mixing mostly kitchen food scraps with a few leaves.

        Comments about Compost Aerator:

I doubted that this aerator would actually work much better than my garden fork but it does. The good news is that my husband likes using it so it's one less job for me.
We both feel that it really mixes the compost easily and thoroughly

            Comments about Compost Aerator:

I had a previous model of this compost aerator that lasted for several seasons. I noticed that this model was flimsier when I purchased it this spring, but I expected it to last more than a few months! The handle fell off this morning when I tried to turn the compost and cannot be repaired. Do not waste your money!

I have used this aerator for years (at least 15) and have had no issues with it. It is the BEST and easiest way I have ever found to turn my compost pile either in the bin or on the ground. Highly recommend!!

                  Comments about Compost Aerator:

I don't get it about the raves for this item. I bought it and tried it out and should have returned it then and there. It is very difficult to insert into a pile of leaves, and even harder to extract. A pitchfork (small or large)is MUCH more efficient. It just feels flimsy and much too small to handle heavy leaves. If you do get it well down in the pile, it still only pulls up a small diameter of stuff.

I have to say at first I thought it was a little pricey. I've had one before. This item is worth every penny. It is well built, comes fully assembled, and has double padded handles, and double flip out aerators.
                      Very happy with it.
