  • Winner of the 2012 Green Thumb Award for Outstanding New Product!
  • Grow a productive vegetable garden in a small space
  • Built to last of solid wood, with dovetail joints and a food-safe finish
  • VIDEO: How to assemble the VegTrug

Grow plants at an easy working height in this unique patio garden; no bending or kneeling to plant, tend and harvest. The compact size is ideal for smaller spaces, and the elevated bed means no weeds and fewer pests, too. The V-shape makes efficient use of space and planting mix — grow deep-rooted plants like tomatoes in the center, shallow-rooted crops like salad greens along the edges. Includes a fitted fabric liner to keep soil contained while letting excess water drain. Plastic feet protect wood from wet surfaces. Quality construction and easy assembly.

Nice but somewhat difficult to assemble.

The planter was somewhat difficult to assemble because the boards don't line up correctly. The stand-up feature of the planter is nice for my elderly mother in law. She loves it! She is growing 2 tomato plants, a green pepper plant, and herbs in the planter.

Bought this to plant a "salsa garden" close to the house; it was pretty easy to assemble although I wouldn't have wanted to tackle it without my handy-with-tools husband. Anyway, it looks great and my only regret is that I didn't buy the bigger size; my tomatoes and peppers and cilantro are thriving and growing almost TOO well.

    Worse Craftsmanship Ever

We were excited when this product showed up and looked simple to construct. Once we began assembly it quickly went from bad to worse. While initial assembly went well on the first part the second side never lined up as each step progressed (and new holes were made to create attachment points) the distance the holes were off went from 1/8" to almost 1/2". By the time the side braces needed to be added their were non-attachable.

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT UNLESS YOU ARE A HANDYMAN WITH TIME TO REDESIGN AND CONSTRUCT. THE COMPANY SHOULD BE ASHAMED TO EVEN CARRY AND SELL THIS ITEM.

Looking forward to planting tomatoes, and peppers. Good value. Very hard to assemble...in fact we have to disassemble and start over..the top slats do not fix correctly. Hope to get it right once we start again.

Product came in record time (a few days). Hired someone to put it together - happened in an hour or so. I planted herbs and put on the bug cover. The next day, we had freeze warnings. I put on the heavier cover and hoped. Well, after 3 days of freezing night temps, the plants are thriving and the cover was great at holding the heat.

The entire unit lets me plants veggies and not have them eaten by rabbits or bears....(I hope about the bears). Love this trig (I purchased the small with the covers and all the soil needed (10 bags).

We purchased this product to add to our raised bed garden, this is a big departure from our norm. The veg trug is nice and i like the height. We were able to assemble it pretty quickly. However we thought the wood was a bit cheap and really unprotected so we took the extra step and painted it with some leftover deck paint. Hope this seals it well enough so it will last through a couple of our Western Washington summers.

                Slug free lettuce garden

                By I Luv Maine

                from Cape Elizabeth, ME

We grow lettuce and alpine strawberries in this. The deer have not dared to go up the stairs onto the deck. The winter moth caterpillars have not made it into the lettuce either. I might have to buy another.

We gave this Vegtrug to my BIL for a birthday gift. We put it together for him and planted everything...huge hit!

When you assemble, make sure you put someone in charge...we had too many chefs stirring the soup. The direction of each piece is important!

Some of the boards did not fit well, but managed to get it built. I like the way I can just stand and plant. I can no longer get down on my knees so this product was for me. I have already told several friends that were interested. I can't wait to watch my plants grow and produce. Overall a great product. It was also helpful to be told how much soil it would take to fill the VegTrug.
