Exclusive | Earth-Friendly Eco-co® Coir for Composting, Planting and More!

  • Carbon-rich coir balances nitrogen-rich kitchen scraps in the compost pile
  • An effective and economical planting mix for use in containers
  • May be added to garden beds to loosen clay soil
  • Pack of 12 bricks

Derived from coconut husks, carbon-rich Eco-co® Coir is handy for layering with nitrogen-rich kitchen scraps and lawn clippings in the compost pile, and it makes a good bedding material for worm composters. Our exclusive Eco-co® Coir is also an earth-friendly planting mix for use in pots, planters and window boxes, or as a peat-free alternative when you make your own planting mixes. Unlike other coirs, our Eco-co Coir undergoes a special process to remove salts and to balance the pH for optimal plant growth. Eco-co Coir has excellent water-holding capacity yet drains well — so important for healthy root growth. Our blend is a mix of fine and coarse grinds to provide the perfect environment for plant roots. Simply add water and each convenient compressed brick expands to 10 quarts of fluffy mix.

Sustainable Material
  • Natural coir
  • Each brick expands to 10 dry quarts for a total of 4-2/3 cubic feet
  • Just add water to expand each brick

I especially like not having to drag heavy bags up hill and out to my planting areas. I can even put the opened bricks into buckets and let the rain do its work.

I use this product as a staple or base in my vermicomposting systems. It holds moisture yet is light and airy allowing worms to move through very easily. Coir, along with shredded paper, and leaves work as a common base for all composting systems.

I use these bricks for topping my compost in the worm beds, it eliminates fruit flies and odors and the worms love it. It retains moisture but is not wet and soggy.
I also use it as the base for my seedlings. Again it retains moisture, its pH neutral and soil less. Germination rate has improved tremendously.

I used this in my 2 patioart hanging baskets and garden bed mixed half and half with the soil. some to add on top of the soil as mulch and look nice. They stay moisture longer to cut down on water chores.

It is 2 weeks since I use those.

I bought these without really knowing anything about them, but once I got started I became an immediate fan. One little brick turns into so much useful material. And, they are so lightweight. Gone are the days of lugging heavy, awkwardly large potting soil bags.

Comments about Eco-co™ Coir Bricks, Pack of 10:

                        1) I used the coir in hanging baskets and containers to increase the amount of water being held in these containers. In addition, I used the hydrated coir for transplants that required more moisture that my sandy soil provides. I am pleased to report that all the plants are growing well.
                        2) The packages were easy to handle, and I was able to store 30 individual coir packages on a shelf.
                        3) The coir hydrated faster than the 10 minutes stated on the package. ( I used warm water higher than body temperature.)
                        4) You will need a container that has a wide opening. I used a 10 or 12 gallon washtub that worked perfectly.
                        5) Already, I recommended this product to several of my friends.
                        6) I will be ordering more coir.

Could not believe how the eco-bricks expanded and added a rich moisture retention to the mix of soil for my planters and garden. I will definitely purchase this again. It shipped so easily and was much lighter to move directly to my gardening areas then lugging around big bags. Awesome material!

I used this in my containers and beds mixed half and half with the soil. I read that its a great way to aerate soil. I had a little to add on top of the soil as mulch for some of my tomato plants too. This is the first year I have used this but I must say its working great so far. We had a week of a lot of 30-50mph winds and I noticed hardly any of it gone from the top. The only thing I wish is that they made a bigger package, since 12 only filled that many places( I have about as many containers left to fill). But everything is going great with it so far!
