Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail Keeps it Simple

  • Practical and attractive way to collect kitchen scraps
  • Easy to clean; resists odors and stains
  • Holds one gallon

The perfect match for today’s sleek, modern kitchen, this pail is also extremely practical. Stainless steel won’t take on the odors or colors of onions, garlic and other pungent food scraps. It easily rinses clean and is dishwasher-safe, too.

  • Stainless steel
  • 7-1/4" in diameter x 7" H
  • 1-gallon capacity
  • Dishwasher-safe

Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:

Had high expectations with this one thinking not having the aeration holes would deter fruit flies.... Wrong!! It's actually worse because the inside is not getting aerated, and everytime you open the lid, it really smells bad. Also a lot of condensation collects inside, again due to no aeration, makes it quite messy.

The lip of the lid is very thin, and doesn't close easily. I used to have a ceramic one that had rubber gasket with tight closure which I loved.

The metal is quite thin, and I can see that it would get banged easily.

The only good thing is the shape of the pail that is wider on top, which makes it so easy to dump the compost.

Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:

I like the way this compost bucket looks on my counter, and its capacity is adequate if your compost pile is not too far away.
The drawback, however, is its heft. I have dented it by banging my plastic coffee grounds container on its inside to get as many grounds as I could into the bucket.
I am unsure about whether to recommend it. Seems to me that it should withstand coffee grounds banging.

Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:

We ordered two of these pails for kitchen scraps and were happy until the knobs on both lids came off. There is no way to fix them since they were welded (poorly). I would not recommend getting them until the lid issue is resolved. Otherwise, they are attractive, odor free, and easy to keep clean.

Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:

This pail's capacity is large enough for a weeks worth of kitchen scraps. It is sturdy enough to take outside to composter and empty. There is no odor nor need for the charcoal filters of other types of compost pails. Very well made, attractive on my granite counter top which makes it readily available when paring fruits and vegetables.

Comments about Brushed Stainless Steel Compost Pail:

Takes up quite a bit of room on counter but this Compost Pot holds a lot of kitchen scraps. Lid fits tightly, so even though there are no filters that fit it, it does a great job of keeping odors inside and not throughout the kitchen.

The container fits under the sink or looks nice enough to keep on the cupboard. I have purchased several, one for myself and for gifts to people who asked about kitchen compost containers.
