not good for wet climates

By Seandalai

from Indianapolis Indiana

Verified Buyer

Pros

  • Colorful
  • Sturdy

Cons

  • Color runs
  • Few Seeds
  • Fragile

Best Uses

  • Dry climate
  • Few Birds

I bought them to redecorate my tree outside after the holiday. But it rained the very next day and the red dyed seeds turned pink. Because these are constructed not out of solid seeds but on a wooden base, many seeds melted off. The sticky seed matrix soaked up the rain and the whole effect was gross.

These would be best if you live in a dry climate and have few birds or use for indoor bird treats.

    Disappointed in product

    By Lin the bird watcher

    from Norristown, Pa

    Verified Reviewer

I received two boxes as a gift, because I feed a lot of birds.
I was excited at first, even though they were all scrambled up in the box.
Very disappointed there really isn't any way to hang them on the feeders.
I can't put them in the trees because the squirrels will cart them off for an afternoon snack.
I will try to drill a whole in them and string them to a feeder pole.
I crammed one in a suet feeder along wth the suet which it sticks out oddly, and the birds haven't touch it at all.
I could think of better ways to spend $$$ on bird food!!

Candy Canes in the trees is a sight

    By POPCORN

We hung 4 of the canes in one tree and the rest in another. The looks of the canes in the trees with the birds flying in for a holiday treat is a sight for all to see. Enjoy, I recommend it highly.
