Exclusive | Nearly Invisible Biodegradable Trellis Netting

  • Sturdy trellis netting supports plants
  • Unobtrusive; lets plants take center stage
  • Hassle-free netting biodegrades in your compost pile

Support your plants with nearly invisible netting that offers strong support all season long. Then, at the end of season, simply toss it, vines and all, into your compost pile. Avoids the hassle of removing plants from trellising. Ideal for peas and pole beans, as well as vining flowers like morning glories. 6’ wide by 36’ long; can be cut to size with scissors. 6" openings make harvesting easy. The biodegradable netting is made of plant-based materials; it will begin to break down four to eight months after being placed in an active compost pile. Speed of decomposition depends on temperature and moisture conditions.

  • 100% biodegradable PLA
  • 6’ W x 36’ L
  • 6” square openings

Difficult to use

It is impossible to roll out and apply to the trellis I also ordered. It gets tangled up too easily and really doesn't work or attach, as promised with the trellis.
I wish I had taken the time to simply make my own trellis and support line. It would have saved me lots of money and aggravation.

        Use netting? Use this

This particular netting relaxes into a rhombus, so bear that in mind when you take it out of the package and try to figure out what the heck you're looking at.
Other reviewers complained that this was challenging to handle. It is, but so is the non-biodegradable netting--and that one makes you curse spring and fall, year after year. The two worst things about netting are getting it untangled and on the frame, and getting the pea and bean vines out of it at the end of the season. This biodegradable version eliminates the second hassle.
The big advantage of netting over twine is that pea and bean vines are less reluctant to climb up it. Also, in spite of the handling issue, it's faster than knotting a hundred strands of twine. It's easier to handle netting on a windless day--the kind you never get in spring when you're trying to get the garden planted.

                • A-frame Netting

Ordered this to go with the A-Frame, to support my peas. This works great if you lay it over the frame, cut it to size and tie it to the sides. I love that at the end of the season, we can put the netting and vines in the compost pile to disintegrate, rather than it ending up in a landfill. It contains enough netting for two or three plantings.
