Exclusive | Bumblebee House Invites Nature's Pollinators to Your Garden

  • Invite beneficial pollinating bumblebees to take up residence
  • Designed for the specific needs of bumblebees
  • Attractive, durable design combined with functionality and convenience

One of nature's most valuable pollinators, bumblebees need a warm, dry place to overwinter. This house is a cozy shelter with smart features for the bees. It has two chambers, one for the queen and one for the worker bees; screens provide good ventilation. Includes raw cotton nesting material, too. Lift the removable top, and a clear plastic panel lets you observe the bees' behavior. Place it in the garden in full or partial shade.

  • Fir protected with eco-friendly preservative and oil stain, Plexiglas
  • 8" W x 6" D x 12-3/4" H
  • Place the house in full or partial shade so the entrance hole is 4" to 10" off the ground
  • Gardener's Supply Exclusive

It looks really great, but I don't know which chamber the cotton belongs in. Some directions included would help a lot and give better pros.

The Sale Price made it irressitable, and when I received it, I was happy with my choice. It would have been fun, but the material & time it would hav taken to plan it, shop it & purchase material, & build it, made the purchase a good one! Now I have a template if I do decide to make more units. Looking forward to Soneone moving in! I like the feature where U can lift off the roof and see thru the plexiglass.

      Comments about Beneficial Bumblebee House:

It is another option to attract Bees specifically Bumblebees. We'll have to see if it eventually attracts and will house them. Nice enough design but as it sits on the ground so I wonder how it will hold up? Also, came with some foam material and no instructions on why or how to use it. I assumed it is supposed to cover the inner chamber. May be obvious to some but a little more instruction would be better.

This is a great idea, and looks very nice; just ordered a few to help attract pollinators for next year's veggie garden and fruit trees. Also will put near some early annuals in planters.

            Comments about Beneficial Bumblebee House:

Bumblebees are pollen collectors, whereas honeybees are nectar focused. Nectar foragers in the colony do pollinate, but to a much lesser extent since pollinating is just a side-effect of their main function: nectar collecting. This shelter is best used when heavy blossoming plants are already in your garden and bumblebees are regular visitors.
