Comments about : All-Purpose Fabric, 6' x 20':

I bought this to protect my Swiss chard from the blazing heat and sun. It can be cut to size, but I just folded the ends over so I didn't limit its use. Sturdy cloth, allows water to filter through.

Works wonders

Comments about : All-Purpose Fabric, 6' x 20':

I have ordered this lightweight fabric twice now and I find it perfect for my needs. If I get a late start with the cooler leafy vegetables like spinach, chard, lettuce etc. I can tent it over the seeds, be vigilant with watering and I can have them all summer. It also works for starting fall crops during the dog days of summer. I am in the northeast zone 6.

Good value; works well

Comments about : All-Purpose Fabric, 6' x 20':

This fabric is light enough that it doesn't injure the plants even when wet from rain. The only drawback is that it catches the wind easily, so can blow off. I use it to cover plants to protect them from deer, dusk to dawn.

Cons

    Best Uses

    • Extends the growing season against the cold.

    Comments about : All-Purpose Fabric, 6' x 20':

Our summers are quite short - we've gotten frost in August, so I will use it to protect the plants from dying before the crop is ready; tomatoes, squash, melons, etc.

Vermont has a short growing season and the row cover allows us to plant lettuce a month earlier to use in our senior meals program and also covers our tomatoes late in the fall to extend our season.

        Comments about : All-Purpose Fabric, 6' x 20':

I live at an altitude of over 7,000 feet near the Tetons in Wyoming and frost, even snow is a possibility every day during the growing season. I wouldn't be able to grow vegetables in my raised beds without this all purpose fabric. I constructed hoops from PVC pipe and placed the fabric right over everything and use rocks to keep it tied down; this way it's easy to remove during the day and cover at night. We have some strong winds and the fabric has held up beautifully. I'd recommend this if you're in a cold climate as I am or even if you just want to get a head start on the growing season.

Gardening at 7,000 feet is difficult, but I put my potatoes in the ground in April. It has snowed twice, and this row cover kept the green tops alive. It is big enough to cover two garden plots, and does not tear or rip up like so many covers I've tried. I can definitely recommend. And, the price is very reasonable. Top quality!
