Since we live in S.W. Pennsylvania, we're snow covered so haven't placed the rain gauge outside yet. It is nice, well made and we are really going to be happy to know how much rain we actually get...not the Pittsburgh Airport's measurements, but our own yard's!

I ordered this little cutie for the garden for my husband's birthday. That was less than a month ago. The glass receptacle broke in severe weather. Who would make an outside ornament without tempered glass? I am really disappointed.

It looks good from the house, but I will have to repaint the bird with acrylic paint to keep it. Even then, the rust shortens its life. It wasn't expensive, but a month seems like a short time for a rain gauge.

I support buying from cooperatives in developing countries, which is why I purchased this item. However, the stem rusted in a couple of days; beaker glass was not tempered and shattered with a casual knock.
