After several seasons of usage, one strap broke on the oldest "chain" set. I paniced over bad weather snow fall until a replacement set of "shoe chains" arrived in my mail box. The "chains" are a seasonal must have for every person in my household. The only safety problem is having to remove the "chains" before walking upon indoor polished floor tile.

I love these! they really work! Every time I catch them on sale I buy them for everyone I know.Easy on and off, and unlike the ones with metal teeth, I can walk into the house with them on and not worry about scratching up the floor.
Only down side is when they get older (more than 2 years) - they lose some of their stretch and fall off in deep snow, luckily the glow in the dark feature of the green one made them easy to find in the snow in the dark.

I bought these becauseI am so afraid of falling in the winter. They are so easy to use and I even put them on to go to church then slipped them off once inside.
I bought a pair for my husband too but thought he would never try them. Well, he decided to use them while using our big snowblower and loved them. He said they were great and he didn't slip once.
