Yaktrax® Pro: Tire Chains for Your Feet
Just like the original Yaktrax® treads, Yaktrax® Pro slips over almost any footwear to give you great traction on ice and snow. This industrial-strength version is designed for heavy use by mail carriers, winter runners and other avid outdoors people. Upgrades include: durable natural rubber construction that resists tears; coil grips made of longer-lasting stainless steel; Velcro® performance strap across the top grips shoe securely.

I have arthritis so it is quite hard to get on my shoes, but probably not for most people. I use them for taking the dogs for walks and the dog park during the winter. I broke my hip 5 months ago, so this definitely builds my confidence walking on ice and packed snow.

do best with a layer of snow on the road but if there is just black ice will help from slipping too much. They fit most shoes well but would need a larger size if I was to wear them on a boot.

The Pros were a surprise gift for my husband and he has attached them to a pair boots, and does not take them off. My uncle died of a fall on the ice last year - he was not wearing his yaktrax that he owned - so I bought them for us. They are terrific and provide excellent traction. So if you get them, wear them.

I just received these at Christmas. I have only needed to wear them 2 or 3 times so far. I do not know how long they will last, but I absolutely love them now. I walk my dog two or three times daily, and it will be nice to not fall down on the ice this winter.
