Comments about Winged Weeder:
I broke the first one by overuse and hooking it onto cement while trimming around sidewalk. I like the way I can skim just under the soil and cut lots of weeds off at the roots, without bending over.
What is not so great is that they seem to be unavailable and I just gave my last one away. Grr!

Comments about Winged Weeder:
Hope to get the hang of this tool. It is a little awkward...kind of spins when I try to use it. The flower gardens are rather crowded to wield this thing so will practice in the vegetable patch where there is more space between plants. Ordered this because of its smaller size and long handle in hopes of using it in wide flower gardens. Perhaps with practice, it will work great for that. Can't decide if I'd recommend to a friend until I get more chances to try it.

Cons

Best Uses
- Established beds
- Weeding mulched areas
Comments about Winged Weeder:
Excellent for weeding established beds and mulched beds. Will slide under mulch and weed without disturbing mulch or landscape fabric and with out damaging surface roots of plants. I have had the short handle model for yrs. and always wanted the long handle model so that I could weed standing up. This not a hoe or cultivator for deep soil prep or bed preperation and is not intended for that use.

Comments about Winged Weeder:
I'm very pleased with this tool. I also use a strap hoe for weeding. The winged weeder is lighter, requires less effort to move through the soil and can be manuevered into small odd shaped places. I've also used this weeder as a hoe in a pinch - it makes an okay planting row and then you can turn it around and use the wings to pull the soil back over the seeds. You do have to use care, when sharpened it skims through the soil so quickly you can take out a big patch of keepers in a blink of an eye.
