White Clover is the Secret to a Lush, Low Maintenance Lawn
- A tried-and-true herbicide-free way to control weeds
- White clover adds nitrogen to the soil
- Use to top seed an existing lawn or mix with grass seed for new lawns
Before the widespread use of herbicides, most lawns contained white clover. As it grows, clover ensures healthy turf by adding nitrogen to the soil and choking out weeds. This Dutch white clover is well suited to lawns as it is a low-growing variety and has good drought resistance.

Comments about White Clover Seed, 1/2 Lb.:
I read a blog about a person filling all bare spots in her lawn with clover. That got me interested in using clover along with grass and the many benefits such as fixing nitrogen into the soil, less need for water to stay green, and attracting pollinating bees (a plus for me). I ordered this clover in August of 2012 when grass was dying from the midwestern drought. I kept it moist and it sprouted well and has come back this spring. I just placed another order so I can fill more bare spots during the cool spring weather.

Comments about White Clover Seed, 1/2 Lb.:
Mixed with grass seed to help quickly fill in dog damaged areas of lawn. The clover started before the grass seed and is filling in quite nicely. Hoping that this will help out in this tough area of the yard.

Comments about White Clover Seed, 1/2 Lb.:
I re-ordered this year as pleased as I was with a smaller quantity last year. The clover even stayed green through the winter in some spots and that in spite of sub-zero temps, buried in snow. Looking forward to a full season of growth because I just moved here mid-season last year.
It flourishes in my yard, can bear traffic, and does well in spite of the drought.

I found it easy to spread in the existing lawn and within just a week began to see signs of clover coming up. Can't wait for it to begin to spread and take over.

Comments about White Clover Seed, 1/2 Lb.:
We have a standard suburban lawn on Long Island at a home with many mature trees which are beautiful but which shade the lawn. We need the white clover to add strength and hardiness to the lawn. Otherwise the lawn is too weak to hold its strength during dry spells during the summer. The white clover does the job!

Comments about White Clover Seed, 1/2 Lb.:
Planted in early spring and germination was great, especially in bare spots in our partially shaded lot. Plan to plant more this fall. Mixed seeds with sand to help broadcast seeds when planted. Definitely recommend for yards.

Lawn has a bad reputation. It is thought to be difficult, time-consuming and "heavy-feeding." However, that is only true of lawns that have poor soil with little organic matter, worms or other soil life.
