Initially I was concerned because the kids was delivered on an extremely cold day and wondered if the mycelium was killed. But less that two weeks later mushrooms sprouted in the kit. The mushrooms are large and delicious...so nice to have really FRESH mushrooms! Since I've only harvested once so far, I'm still skeptical about the cost value of growing my own mushrooms.

I bought the button mushroom kit for myself and another for a friend. (Also bought a portabella kit for another friend.) Mine is doing great. I'm on day 15 and there are about 30 small mushrooms. Can't wait to try them. My friends are a few days behind me and they are very excited. Great product! I bought the shiitake mushroom kit a few years ago and this one was MUCH easier to use.

I got this for my Dad for Christmas. He's an avid gardener but lives in Ohio so wintertime gardening is not really an option. He called the other day after having a skillet of sauted mushrooms for lunch! He's been taking pictures everyday of the growing progress-in short-he loves it!

I have bought this mushroom growing kit for my father 3 times. He loves it. The mushrooms are very tasty. It lets him exercise his green thumb during the Ohio winter months and provides him and my mother with wonderful mushrooms to eat.
