    Comments about Vegtrug™ Patio Garden:

We bought two of them and were pleasantly surprised at how easy they were to assemble. Each one took seven 2 cubic foot bags of garden soil. We have planted an assortment of vegetable plants, herbs and seeds. Looking forward to a successful garden this summer! Love the height, so easy to take care of. The size gives you more flexibility in where you place it.

    Comments about Vegtrug™ Patio Garden:

Bought this as a gift for my 93 year old father, who has gardened all his life. He could no longer bend down to tend to his plants in the ground. I assembled the container on his deck, filled it with dirt and had him put his plants into the soil. He is enjoying tending his new garden without knee pain.

      Comments about Vegtrug™ Patio Garden:

We live in southern Arizona (Tucson) where the soil is very thin, and dry, with little or no nutrients and the weather is too hot to grow delicate vegetables easily. I have missed growing tomatoes in the Summer like I did when I lived in the Northern part of the US, so I bought the VegTrug thinking I could remedy the thin soil problem and also would be able to protect the plants with the various covers. Well, so far so good! I have included some pictures of the tomatoes and other plants I planted in the VegTrug on May 2. I already have baby tomatoes, which I have NEVER been able to do in Arizona!

Couple of comments: I wish the lumber to construct this item were heavier. It was hard to put together, but on the positive side, once together it is solid. Also all the covers and the canopy all fit perfectly and perform admirably. I have been very pleased overall. I just hope it lasts more than one season as it was pretty expensive.

Another great feature is that it is at waist height, which makes caring for the vegetables and planting, etc. super easy.

assembling the product was easy until the two side boards had to be screwed on. i could not get them to align at both end of the planter. the predrilled holes did not align. i had to force the side ends to align so i could screw them in. other than that it's a good product

This is my first season with my Vegtrug and so far it is doing well. It was easy to set up, with a little help and the seeds are coning up. I like the convenience of no bending to tend the plants and it looks great.

            Comments about Vegtrug™ Patio Garden:

I am fortunate to have a very handy husband (both of us are 70). I needed something with good capacity since I have had 5 surgeries on my left leg including hip replacement in the past year. Still not back to full mobility. My husband assembled both trugs on our living room deck, after treating the wood in advance. One trug already has us overrun with radishes, lots of bunching onions, carrots, tomatoes, basil, beets, chard. To have so many items in one spot is great. All are growing very well.

            Comments about Vegtrug™ Patio Garden:

I wrote to the company about the fact that the deminsions were not in the directions. I really think this is important so you can plan the area. I also wrote to the company about my concern with the drainage. It did not say anything in the directions or the video if the liner will help me toward the importance of drainage. I think I am going to have fun with this product. It was a gift at Xmas and I did not start working with it until this spring. It really looks 'cool'. I have the cover for early starts for next year. I can't wait to see the production of my Heirloom Tomatoes! I did paint a permanent protective material on the wood to avoid yearly maintenince. I think this would be a great selling point if the company did this for you! Again, I think I will have a lot of fun with my special gift from my wife!

              Comments about Vegtrug™ Patio Garden:

I was so pleased when I saw this item for sale online, so I bought it. I live in Arizona and it is really hard to grow vegetables like tomatoes. The soil is thin and about 5 inches down you hit a rock like structure called "caliche". So this seemed like a perfect way to grow some tomatoes and other vegetables and not have to bend down or wrangle with the non-existent soil!

However, once I got the planter I was disappointed in that the lumber to build it was quite lightweight and flimsy. We did put it together, not as easily as in the video, but we got it together.

I have now put the liner and the soil in it and planted my tomatoes. It was very easy to plant without having to bend over. That is a wonderful feature.

I put coconut fiber (coir) in the bottom (25 kilos) of the planter which made it possible to use less soil than the top capacity of 340 quarts.

I intend to write more after I have had the item and see how it works long term. I do hope it will last more than one season.
