We love this bed because it’s so easy to assemble and provides lots of growing space. Use the 12" deep upper tier for tomatoes, potatoes or root crops; use the 6" deep lower level for lettuce, herbs, beans and peppers. Double-thick sidewalls add extra strength and help insulate plant roots. Plastic row cover hoops are included to support bird netting or season-extending garden fabric. Easy, no-tool assembly.

Comments about Two-Tier Raised Bed:
We are using this for a backyard garden. We liked it so much that we bought a second one. The only drawback wiht this product is that the canopy frame is not easy to assemble. No instuctions so you have to "eyeball" it.

Comments about Two-Tier Raised Bed:
The raised-bed garden is absoultely perfect for someone who is just beginning to garden. Easy to set-up and just the right size for weeding and watering. Started with two and have just expanded to four separate gardens. Can't wait for spring!!

Comments about Two-Tier Raised Bed:
After moving three times in three years I was sick of building (and leaving) raised beds from wood. I set this up here in upstate NY in early March- a bit early, but covered with plastic and then summer weight garden fabric and bird netting (to keep our DOG out!), my veggies got off to an early start! The hoops were easy to take out once the weather was nicer and the plants got bigger. It was very quick and easy to assemble-- maybe 20 minutes including unpacking the box. The directions for the arches were lacking, but it was easy to figure out by looking at the picture on this website. I put this right over my lawn, laying cardboard and weedcloth down underneath, lay a brick border around it to avoid damaging the sides with the weedeater, and filled with peat/compost/vermiculite. That soil mix is pretty lightweight, so the sides have not bowed even a bit. I also have not noticed any sun bleaching, but again, I live in upstate NY. Several neighbors saw how easy my garden came together and want to get this raised bed!

I just purchased 2 of these. How much soil is needed for each? Also, these are not designed to be stacked, but has anyone done this and what else is needed to do this?

Comments about Two-Tier Raised Bed:
I didn't have to dig up the backyard to start a garden. My little kids could help me with assembly and planting. Very easy. Looks good. I have a small backyard and it fits perfectly.

Comments about Two-Tier Raised Bed:
This is a great small garden and we used good soil and peat in it. Our garden soil will not grow anything so I have hopes that I will have vegetables this year!

Comments about Two-Tier Raised Bed:
I have had to put many things together from plumbing to involved unassembled furniture. The instructions were totally inadequate. It took my daughter and myself about 1-1/2 hours to assemble. I would not advise anyone to buy this. It would be easier to buy the wood and make it yourself.

Better instructions for putting the row covered hoops would have been nice. Other than that the frame was quick and easy to put together.

Comments about Two-Tier Raised Bed:
This is possibly a good product but I won't know until I see how the sidewalls hold up. The bed assembly was easy but the arches that go over the top had me frustrated. The brochure pictures are too small to view well and the instructions were unclear. When I went on-line and enlarged the pictures I immediately saw what I was doing wrong. My biggest problem was that the side walls bulged from the weight of the dirt. I used 18 inch metal reinforcing stakes to reinforce the walls and it seems fine now. In time I will find out if the walls have any deterioration. My first raised garden was built with wood sides and is beginning to rot but I expected it to over time. I'm eager to save money with other longer lasting material. The price drew me to this product/by the time I bought all the wood and materials and assembled my first raised bed, it was comparable in cost and will, hopefully, last longer.
