Comments about Two Deluxe Rain Barrels and Linking Kit:
I now own three of this brand of barrels and only one of them leaks from the overflow. I will take it apart and seal the PVC. I always set my rain barrel on cinder block to elevate so I can use a bucket under it if I choose.

Comments about Two Deluxe Rain Barrels and Linking Kit:
These Deluxe Rain Barrels are my second "set" from Gardener's Supply. (I previously purchased a 40 gal English Rain Barrel and 45-50 gal Urn, and also purchased another single Deluxe = 5 barrels. I was disappointed the English Rain Barrel is no longer available.) These barrels are MUCH larger than my previous two and have worked very well on their first run the same evening they were installed. The rain came down SO hard the 1st barrel (under the oversized downspout) was full and overflowing exactly as it should *before* the second barrel filled. The second barrel did fill and then began overflowing exactly as it should. LOVE having that much water to use in my otherwise dry gardens. The hoses work really well so far as well. I *will* be replacing the overflow tube ties with clamps as they slip off pretty easily if tripped up by pets or myself.

Comments about Two Deluxe Rain Barrels and Linking Kit:
Each year I purchase 2 more of these rainbarrels. I now have them all linked up with another one to increase the capacity from 75 gallons to 150 in each location. I have them on my trailer, my newly built rock house, and on my storage shed. With an annual rainfall of only 7 to 10 inches, we need all the water we can get! And I am amazed how much rain I can collect! I love these because they are large and so easy to access the water with the hose connections. I get lots of comments when people see them. I don't know why everyone doesn't have them!

Comments about Two Deluxe Rain Barrels and Linking Kit:
I have gradually increased my numbers of these barrels I own to 7 over the last three years, three pair with the linking kit and one without, and they are the best I have found anywhere. They are of extremely robust contruction, and that is what I like about them, not to mention their complete features and good looks. Their weaknesses are easily corrected, for instance, I used a couple of small self tapping sheet metal screws, of the type used to screw straps around rain gutter downspouts, to keep the exterior overflow tubes from coming off their nipples. Also, since the valves are not of the highest leakproof quality, either put your own choice on the hose, or make sure you have the valve secured at the top of the barrel between uses. I use a brick to make sure the valve and an attached garden hose end stay at the top of the barrel.

I have a huge yard for So. Calif. and a very strict water district. These rain barrels will be fabulous over the dry summer months to keep the garden going.

I tried two last year and they worked out so well that I purchased two more this year for a total of 300 gallons of water that Mother Nature provides. No increased water bill throughout the watering months.

Comments about Two Deluxe Rain Barrels and Linking Kit:
The gravity drain ended up being a problem for me because most of my garden is slightly up hill from where the barrels are. The hose connector is plastic and is cross threaded. Not sure if it came that way or not but because of it and the limited space around the connector I am unable to get the garden hose on all the way on one of them. I believe this may be where most people are experiencing their leaks from. While being made of plastic is good to move them around easier it also makes them more suseptible to wind. Our first rain storm after installing them blew one down the street before it could fill with water. I will be installing straps around them to hold them in place now. While the notch to hold the hose is convenient it can wear and one hose has never been held by the groove. I think some sort of retaining clip would be more practical. I think some sort of retaining clip for the screen would be advisable too. Despite my gripes they are a good product and the things I have problems with have realatively easy work arounds.

Comments about Two Deluxe Rain Barrels and Linking Kit:
The collection of rain water is important. The cost of water is through the roof. I am sure the plants will enjoy their drink of fresh water.
