This knife seems custom-made for tomato slicing. It does in fact make uniform slices easily, even with somewhat soft fruit. I share another reviewer's concern about the stainless steel blade, which does not seem to fair well with the dishwasher.

This is a very sharp little kitchen knife but the serrations are deep enough that it can't cut through the final bit of tomato skin without sincere effort and sawing.

I/ve used this tomato knife from this manufacturer
for years. I think it is a very good product. The current advertisment says the product is DW safe, however after several cycles in my DW, rust
began to appear. My husband noted if it were true
stainless steel it would not rust.

I love to use this knife! Tomato slices which are uniform and are not squished when I use the knife. The knife is easy to use and can be used for many foods which are made attractive and elicit a "wow" comment from our guests.
