I love these! They allow me to water the tomato plants from below, and I end up with a much better idea of how much water the plants actually got. I sprinkled a bit of soil in the bottom of the water container part so the water went through the holes slowly. The plants have flourished!

I used them for some of my tomatoes and they were doing great. Since those tomatoes were doing great and the others were doing poorly and the Tomato Halos were on sale I bought 15 more and put them over my other tomatoes. They formed more roots in the center were I added more soil and they are now doing wonderful. I would use them on any plant in a vegetable garden and plan on buying more.

I like this product so much that this is my third year purchasing the product. I've added more each year so now I have enough to cover my whole garden. I use for tomato plants, eggplants and pepper plants. The water goes direct to the roots, and I know it is soaking in to the roots instead of running off over the mounds of dirt I used to have to build up around each plant. This is the first year I've had any problems with clogging, but all I had to do was to poke a little larger hole, and now everything is great. In prior years I had no issues at all. I've also purchased a pack of these as a gift for my sister-in-law who admired mine.

These work great in keeping insects/worms/blithe at a minimum if at all. I love the added red color in the garden to make it bright and cheery. They make watering very easy. Some people complained that they clog up. They can get leaves and other things in them, but I use a stiff piece of fencing wire and keep it near my halos. If need be I can stick it down in the halo watering points and clear them out. I also pull any items out that might clog them. I have had no problem with this and they work great for no weed problems. I use them in raised garden beds which I'm sure assists in the "no weeds" coming up also. The only con there has been and its not a product defect, its a packaging defect. I bought a few sets and two of the sets were smashed and broken on one of the points that stick out of the bottom of the halos. Gardeners was absolutely wonderful and immediately shipped me sets to replace both and they arrived very quickly. My point being that it was always broken where the point comes out from the bottom of the halo. Possibly stiff cardboard could be placed in the bottom of the box to keep the points from being smashed/crushed in shipping. I have bought more sets and use them all. They are great!

I admit to loving new tomato products, and this one is fantastic. Being a Master Gardener, I know that planting my tomatoes outside on May 4 this year was a huge risk, but I did it anyway using the tomato halos. It was easy to place the small plants into the opening and fill with soil. I then added a small handful of organic fertilizer, filled the moat with water, and left them. Here in NH, we had 2 inches of snow on May 30. When I returned the first week in June, I expected to find dead tomato plants. Instead, I found the plants not only survived, but were about 3 feet tall with very thick stalks. Amazing! It is now July, and I am harvesting large amounts of (cherry) tomatoes. And so far, there are no signs of cutworms or horn worms.
