Comments about Terrazza Trough Extension Kits:
This was our big project this year. I had 2 square Planters I put together first. The first one went together so easily and perfectly but the second one was more difficult. I then got 5 extensions and a square planter (I wanted 4 extensions and the trough but they were out of the trough planter when I ordered) It took me about 4 hrs to put together the 5 extensions and square planter and now I feel like an assembly expert. Some sections were easy some were hard. I have a few tips for the hard sections. Hopefully this will help someone because these planters are beautiful and so worth the work of assembly!
My only complaint is that the tube you use to fill the bottom with water does not work to tell you when it is full. There is an overflow hole so I know when I see a tiny bit of water come out from under the planter it is full.
Assembly tips:
1)It really does help if you lay all the pieces out with the arrows pointing up. One piece in the extension kit that is the black colored brace piece has arrows going two different ways. The bigger arrow points to the top and if you look at the drawing in the instructions it will help.
2)Get a Rubber Mallot!!! They say no tools needed but the rubber Mattot was a big help in tapping in the foot pieces that go on the bottom of the posts. Also when you attach the posts to the sides You have to put it in one position and then slide to lock the plastic tabs in place. This was where I had the most trouble but with the rubber mallot you could put the post on in position and then tap with the mallot to get it to slide and lock in place. It did not do any damage to the plastic.
3) If you are having trouble with the black strips that lock in the bottom of the planter first make sure the bottom is not still sitting up to high (I had to thump hard with my hand on a couple to get them to go down) or the bottom could be too far from the planter sides. (I had to push the side in with my knee to get it close enough to put the strips in on a couple of the extensions.
4) If you are having trouble getting the big black plastic screw to go into the foot piece that little metal tab tool makes the perfect screwdriver!
I hope that helps.

I use these planter boxes on the edge of my driveway next to my wrap around porch. They went together easily and I've had many positive comments from friends and family. I plan to buy additional units next year to add more plants to my back deck.

The extension kit grew my Terezza planter to the size I needed. It was difficult to assemble however.

very happy overall -- one section not working though and don't know how to fix it because once soil & plants are in place, how do you fix a problem w/ the tube w/o major disruption to the system? generally happy w/ the product, however.

Comments about Terrazza Trough Extension Kits:
Overall quite easy to assemble and add to the trough planter. Two downsides for me though were the fact that a number of pieces arrived broken (although did not affect final assembly), and you don't get the option of the ball finials... they only send the pointed finials.

I started my first vegetable garden on my new deck using this extension with the trough model. I've been very happy with the results. One side does drain, but I left out a little square portion while assembling so that may be my own fault. I love the convenience of the self-watering feature. The only thing I would tell new gardeners is that if you're growing plants that don't have very deep roots, you can use a shorter container and then not spend so much in soil. I also found this extension to be a cost effective method of essentially doubling the planting space of the trough model.

Comments about Terrazza Trough Extension Kits:
I've grouped one planter and two extensions together, and I think once it is assembled it will function well and be very attractive on our deck. Not all of the parts fit easily together, particularly in the extensions, so I've been struggling for hours to construct it. One tab was not molded properly so I had to modify it with a saw. It looks like I may have to omit some parts just to finish it. I notice that to get his published the editors have a right to modify the review so I hope it is printed as written.

So far the planters are great. They were pretty easy to assemble. I was missing only one part but it was not critical to the functioning of the planter. I'm wondering how they will hold up to being outside year round in a full sun location. I have other planters by the same manufacturer and they've done great. Hopefully these will too.

Comments about Terrazza Trough Extension Kits:
The floats in the water wells are poorly designed. I also am not sure how the plants get to the water when the trough is 18" deep and a 6" herb has been planted, or the plant doesn't rot if continually wet. So far I have had no problems, but I do water when we have a deficit of rain.

Comments about Terrazza Trough Extension Kits:
I used these planters as a border for the front of our lake cottage. They work great since we cannot be there every day to water. The reservoirs work great. The only thing I worry about is the coming winter if they will freeze and crack. Since I have one planter and three extensions it will be impossible to move them indoors.
