Strength, durability and natural weather resistance have made teak the wood of choice for generations of builders and craftsmen. These Deck Tiles are made from dense teak heartwood that’s harvested on a sustainable, environmentally-sound plantation in Costa Rica. They will last 10 to 20 years without preservatives, weathering to a silver-gray over time. Creating a new deck, or resurfacing an existing one, is a "snap" with these no-tools deck tiles, since the interlocking plastic grid backing lets you snap them together. Great for creating pathways, covering a concrete patio, or making a platform for your rain barrel.

Comments about Teak Deck Tiles:
Unusual application: intent to use these tiles as a "floor" for my outside cat's house to keep it, and her, off the cold concrete patio. Like them because they're natural, snap together, and have a nice plastic grid base.

I ordered these for a small deck that abuts a cedar shed in the backyard. These look great and I suspect they will last for a very long time!

Comments about Teak Deck Tiles:
I looked at many teak bath mats for an indoor shower with a nasty concrete floor in an old cabin. All were way too expensive and the teak was of questionable (or outright) non-sustainable sources. This product is from Costa Rica where many teak plantations are grown in old pastures, thereby recovering forest -- albeit, non-native -- to some extent. Certainly preferable to ordering teak from SE Asia where it is native and still comes out of intact primary forest. Easy to assemble, sturdy, and looks as if it will last for a long time although I have used it for only a couple months. You can trim off the interlocking connectors on the sides of the tile to make it neater. Good product, supporting a county with strong conservation ideals.

I purchased this for use between the hot tub and fence. There are several feet of space and I needed something that looked nice, was easy to use and weathered well. They were easy to install and they look nice. Water falls between the wood slats and drains well. I have plans to buy more for various projects throughout my garden!
