The light output is fantastic, but there are a few design shortcomings that others have mentioned and I have some ideas for easy fixes that work well for me! Use black duck tape to force the electrical cord to the point where it will NOT cause the relector to dip by taping the cord to the vertical post. Next, I found that if I similarly tape the on/off switch in the same manner, it is MUCH easier to use. Another complaint is the joining cable for the 2 bulbs. This cable is designed to go to the OUTSIDE of the vertical post. Try to fit it on the opposite side if it doesn't work. One side is definitely better than the other! It works great with a timer, too. Please see my photos under this model as a "KIT".

I'm using it for my kitchen herbs which are in a 25" x 9" planter. THis fixture fits perfectly over my rectangular planter and looks great. I just got it yesterday; too early to tell how well my herbs grow. The only negative is the right hand wall cord weighs down the hood so it lists - the only way I can solve this is to loop the cord over the top bar, which doesn't looks too great.

I purchased two of these as my collection of caudex plants began to grow. Our summers in El Paso are very harsh and dry. All my plants do better under the grow lights. I now have bog plants that are thriving under the lights. I wish I had room for two more of these in my small plant room.

Using for my African Violets during our long winters. It was not to hard to assemble just had to carefully follow the directions. Fits perfect in the small space in my work room

I am beginning to grow "Pachyforms" and this is the perfect way to keep light and heat under control. Will also bring in some cacti and succulents during the winter. My small plant room has only one window, so am thinking about purchasing one or two more of these plant lights.

I love starting things from seed, and this helps germinate the seeds fast, and the faster the plants get put in the outside veggie garden. Love it.

I'm using this light to start seedlings. It's done very well for that. The cord attaching the two bulbs is too short, and I can't keep it inserted. It would be so much better and brighter if only I could get both sides to work.

Comments about Compact Tabletop SunLite Garden:
I started tomato seeds. They are full, lush and ready to plant. I've tried a lot of seed starters and this light is a winner. I highly recommend this grow light. If you aren't planning a large garden this light is a good choice. I used one of the new seed starter kits in conjunction with this light. I bought some plants at the local home center and had to keep them inside for almost a week. A day under the light tucked in the back of the garage, and the plants were reaching for the light. Well worth the money. My only concern is whether or not I can find replacement lamps.
