Not only are the lights much brighter than regular fluorescent tubes, they also easily adjust up and down so you can keep them just the right height above the plants. Plus, you don't need to hide this attractive stand in the basement — put it somewhere where you can enjoy your plants and brighten your living area with full-spectrum light. SunLite Gardens are ideal for starting all types of seeds and provide optimum conditions for flowering houseplants like orchids and hibiscus. If you're new to starting seeds, why not start out right?
Our Vermont-made SunLite® Gardens employ the latest in lighting technology to give your plants the ideal quality and intensity of light for optimum growth. You can start plants from seed, grow herbs, houseplants, and even orchids. The new, ultra-light fixture weighs just 6 pounds and has a slimmer profile to give plants more headroom. It measures a full 14" wide to ensure even light coverage across the shelf. Inside, there are two T-5 bulbs that produce an abundance of brilliant, full-spectrum light. These bulbs use 45% less energy than standard fluorescent bulbs and provide up to 10,000 hours of use. The fixture also has pull chains for easy height adjustment and an electronic ballast to eliminate any annoying buzzing. This complete SunLite Garden includes frame and fixture, T-5 bulbs, watertight tray and casters.

Comments about Standard Floor SunLite® Garden:
Two lights will start your seed plants but they do not grow as bushy and big as the old system with 2 bulbs. I believe the old bulbs were called size 8 bulbs.

Cons
- Poor Construction

Comments about Standard Floor SunLite® Garden:
My husband and I purchased this to go under the T-5 tabletop model in order to increase our indoor growing space. After less than one month of use, the side clamps that fix the length of chain and hold the light in place, stripped and will no longer function properly. This is a very expensive product[...]offered with sub-par components.

Comments about Standard Floor SunLite® Garden:
Use it for starting plants and keeping spices going after season is over...had some little issues with the construction of light brackets...the rivets stick out a good 1/4 inch and don't allow ballast to seat into the bracket..will have to take a grinder to them in order to keep lights from falling out...also had a bad ballast that was replaced and one bolt missing...company was suppose to call me back today about fixing light bracket but that call never came...not too happy with the mistakes that were made in the construction and for the big dollar that being charged there shouldn't be any mistakes made...hopefully they will take a good look at future systems so the next gardener doesn't have to deal with these problems...

Comments about Standard Floor SunLite® Garden:
I just purchased this light system, very easy to put together and i did it by myself. There was one problem one of the trays had a crack in it. When i called about the problem the person was very polite and told me another one will be on the way.[...]The system is doing it's job and so is the timer.

Comments about Standard Floor SunLite® Garden:
needs a bottom bar down the middle to support the lower tray to keep it from sagging over the years. if you dont add water or heavier pots its fine like it is. a simple fix is to cut a piece of plywood and put in the bottom. This is a great Product. The best in the market.

To preface my review i want to note that i am legally blind, I may have more patience than most because I expect to have problems putting stuff togeather, I put this togeather in 2 hours I had some do overs; several actually, so i did have to resort to reading the instructions, about 4 paragraphs :) but if a blind guy can do it; you can do it! And the thing is together right the light works the chains are on the light is hung, it doesn't look like a junk yard remake and I'm a happy camper and thats my review!

Comments about Standard Floor SunLite® Garden:
Works as described, I added a simple timer from the hardware store so my starters get the right amount of light. Even though it has wheels, it is rather large so I've made room for it in a spare bedroom to keep permanently. It's going to allow me to start my seeds and grow vegetables all year round. If you are serious about gardening and don't get enough light inside for your starters with is a great solution.

Comments about Standard Floor SunLite® Garden:
This is a blessing to me and my garden spring will be earlier from now on. I can now put out the heritage and gourmet variety plants I can not find in the nurseries.
